Welcome to the official announcement thread for North Laul #18
the
Estonian National Selection for the North Vision Song Contest 18North Laul is a national music festival that has been held for five years so far, and it is meant
to select the Estonian representative for the North Vision Song Contest, the biggest musical
competition held among European countries.
The Format
North Laul 18 will go back to the good old format, with six acts performing in one big final evening.
Songs for the selections could have been submitted until 31st December 2015,
and the lucky finalists were chosen by a jury panel made of music experts.
The final show will be held at the Tondiraba Ice Arena in Tallinn, on the 23rd of January 2016, at
20:00 CET, and will be broadcast live on ETV and on Togethertube (https://togethertube.com/rooms/northlaul).
ERR promises, as usual, a spectacular high quality show, with exciting performances,
sketches and more to come!
The show will be hosted by Anu Välba and Haapsamarkalu
The Voting
For the first time ever, the winner of North Laul 18 will be selected by Televoting only, meaning
no judges will have a say on the results.
All the televoters will be now able to rate all the songs from
0 to 5000 - the numbers represent fictional text messages sent from the audience.
Pay attention: you do not have 5000 points in total, nor you have to spread them equallybetween the competing songs; you can give a song as many points as you wish,
independently from the points you gave other songs,
and of course, provided that you do not give each song an higher value than 5000.
The Acts
An expert ERR jury panel selected the six hopeful acts that will perform live
in North Laul 18. Here they are!
