Colombia is back at NVSC!
Canal Uno announced today that they will broadcast the show again from edition #18 on! They stated that they are proud to bring the show back to the Colombian Northvision-Fans!
Canal Uno said that they are happy to have a new HoD and that they are planning additional things for the event, although nothing concrete was named. Also the range of their broadcast wasn't announced.
So stay tuned for more!

Colombia will broadcast the Semi-finals! Aside of the Pre-Qualifiying round for the 18th edition of the North Vision Song contest, the Colombian Broadcaster Canal Uno officially announces to broadcast the final and both semi-finals live in Colombia. They said that a duo will commentate the event, and that they will later announce, who will be the two. Canal Uno states the enormous positive response in the Colombian public to the NVSC as the main reason to do that. Canal Uno also stated that they plan other fan service, but wants to keep this a secret. So we can be excited about what to hear next of Canal Uno!
Don't tagging anyone because I think most of the NVSC tag list may have to much tags already

Canal Uno announces who will commentate North Vision 18 for them! Maluma and Carla Giraldo will be the duo which will guide the Colombian Nortvision fans through the evening. Canal Uno announced this in a press conference.  Maluma is a 22-year-old singer, who was born in Medellin. He said that he is excited about this chance and that he will look forward to work together with Carla.  Of course I've chosen her just because her music relations, not for her look.  Carla Giraldo is 26 years old and famous in Colombia as an actress. She knows much about music, and wants to show this alongside Maluma the next weeks in Brussels. The reaction on social media platforms was very positive, with many people being pleased that Canal Uno lines up such famous people for the job of a commentator. This shows the big interest the TV channel has in NVSC. |

+++Breaking news+++Canal Uno, the Colombian broadcaster announced today in a short press statement that from this edition on they will hand out awards for Nortvision acts. An at the moment not known Jury out of experts will rate the songs in different categories and then announce the winners. The name of the award is not known yet, Canal Uno will give further announcements during the 18th edition of the North vision Song contest. |

News from Colombia
After the end of NVSC #18 Canal Uno released a press statement, including a review of their broadcast of the event and some announcements regarding further broadcast.
Viewing figures: The grand final of North Vision Song Contest 18 watched on average 1.9 million viewers, with a peak of 2.6 million during the performance of Slovakia. Canal Uno registered a contrasting development of the amount of viewers then expected, because the viewing figures decreased during the reveal of the final results. As a reason Canal Uno suspects the higher concurrence by other television channels in the later afternoon. Two other NVSC-related broadcasts, a 30-minute summary of the show in the late night and rerun of the show the next morning reached again high tv quotes, with 2.3 million and 1.2 million viewers on average respectively. The official Colombian statistics authority didn't release any details about the market share, but researchers assume that it amounted around 10% for the live coverage, 6% for the summary and 18% for the rerun. Social feedback: The Colombian NVSC-fans were also very active on social media. The hashtag #NVSC18 was trending on Twitter Colombia, and many fans told their happiness about Colombia's return to broadcasting NVSC. Also fans from foreign countries announced their delight about Colombia's return. Due to the high activity of the Colombian NVSC community, Canal Uno is thinking about how to include this potential more in their broadcast. Suggestions are welcome!
Award time: the announced awards for NVSC acts won't be held this edition. Canal Uno named a lack of preparations as a reason, especially it was hard to find an adequate jury. Instead there will be an online poll, searching "Colombia's favorite NVSC act". There will also be a separate ranking just for the songs which failed to pass the semi finals. Accusations that the voters may be biased due to the results declined Canal Uno. Canal Uno apologies for the cancellation of the usual awards and promises that these will be held for the 19th edition. The preparations for it already started!
NVSC #19: After the successful broadcast of the previous edition in Brussels, Canal Uno confirms the broadcast of the final of the 19th edition held in Italy. The broadcast of the semi finals is again insecure, because an increase of the costs due to the fact that the semis will be in two different cities. The cancellation of the PQR and therefore free budget may help and make the broadcast of the semi finals very likely. Gracias y adios de Colombia |
