THE NEW FINAL VOTING PRESENTATION SYSTEM
WHY A CHANGE?
We decided to change the presentation of the final results due to the main fact that it simply takes too long to make the former-Eurovision-style scoreboard, so you have to wait very long for the results. The aim was to find a solution that takes less time, but is as enjoyable to look at as a scoreboard.
WHAT ARE THE CHANGES?
... WHEN I SEND MY VOTES
That's the good news: hardly anything. You still send your top ten to us with to . The only thing that changes is that there is no need to send speeches, spokespersons and backgrounds any more*.
*for some exceptions look at the section 'on screen during the show'
... TO MY VOTES AFTER I SENT THEM
Your votes do not get added up together as they come in like the last editions, but get added to special groups.
This is the whole point of the new system, instead of 41 single countries presenting their single votes, there will be whole geographic regions announcing their points altogether.
That means all points of for example the American countries get added up together and there will be a specific ranking of the 25 countries by that region.
Depending on the amount of participants the amount of regions, and the amount of countries in one region will change each edition.
For this edition we have seven regions with 5 countries in them and one with 6!
... ON SCREEN DURING THE SHOW
The regions announce their points one by one. The votes will by a spokesperson from one participating country in that region. The country is always the one, who did best in the previous edition. E.g.: South Korea wins the second edition, therefore is the best country from it's region, and can announce the region's points in #3
Therefore, eight countries WILL HAVE TO SEND SPOKESPERSON AND BACKGROUND (and optionally a short opening speech) along with their votes. These countries will be named once the GF recap is posted.
The points of a regions get presented in the following order:
(0. A short opening speech that can be written by the respective member, but is not a must)
1. The places 11.-25. from the regions ranking get shown all together at the beginning
2. The places 6.-10. get shown one by one on screen, without them being announced by the spokesperson (beginning with #10)
3. The places 1.-5. get announced by the spokesperson, beginning with #5
