Yay India finally got a medal, bronze in women's 58kg wrestling. Thank you to Sakshi Malik for her bronze. Also in badminton, Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is through to the women's singles finals so definitely a medal there too Great Britain are doing amazingly well but right now I'm more concerned about India maybe getting a gold

Some Chinese acrobats putting on a show (it's non-competitive).
I've been seeing a lot of countries do upsets over USA, which is refreshing, I guess, but I feel a little sad inside because they're one of the best athletes in their sport. I was pleasantly surprised to see Serbia barely beat in women's volleyball and also pleasantly surprised that Brazil managed to upset USA in beach volleyball.
Speaking of Brazil, Brazilians are so competitive that even the audience tries their best to demoralize the non-Brazilian teams by booing, especially to the USA. Looking at their medal count, it's not really working. It's annoying. It makes me not wanna go there if that's their attitude. Or I guess it's a football thing, huh?
This is hilarious.

Speaking of Or I guess it's a football thing, huh? Kinda, but even in football you don't see ot in such an extreme way like the Brazilians do.

Ahmad Abughaush just won Jordan's first ever gold medal And none for the Philippines (yet). Goodbye!
Serbia is on its way to a gold medal match in basketball against USA. The Serbian team is actually looking really good. They land those shots so efficiently, but they're gonna be up against some top NBA stars, so I'll either expect a predictable game or a huge upset like what happened in women's volleyball earlier.
Ivory Coast (or Cote d'Ivoire) just won their first ever gold medal, beating the UK literally in the last second in a taekwondo match. And none for the Philippines (yet). Goodbye! Can we please win gold? I don't want to wait another 2-4 years for that to happen.
And while we're in the Olympic mood, I'll just share this song. It's Japan's Olympics theme song this year, performed by none other than QUEEN Namie Amuro (my avatar at the moment)! The song is called "Hero". Enjoy! Just click the link: en.musicplayon.com/Namie-Amuro-Hero-Music-Video-728915.htmlShort version:

What the hell, Ryan Lochte? You just ruined your career as a competitive swimmer. He had fled back to the USA and is here in the country right now after some controversy. What had happened was he was very drunk with some other swim buddies and an incident happened. When the media asked him about it, he claimed they were robbed on gunpoint, so that naturally stirred up some attention. He even called his mom about it. Later on, it was revealed through surveillance footage (or something related) that he and his friends had vandalized a gas station. By the time the lie was discovered, Lochte was already in a plane on the way back to the USA. Crime is a sensitive topic in general (especially in Brazil), so as I mentioned previously, his career is going to be damaged after this. His teammates got detained when they were boarding the plane. They weren't so lucky. Now, I wonder if there's an international judiciary system that deals with this. The media here likes to call him a 32-year old "kid". In general, he has a goofy personality, but he's not one without his share of negative attention.
In other news, Brazil wins a in a men's football finals match against . Basically kind of a revenge game from the previous World Cup. It's cool to see the host country win gold (their first one in the sport even) in a sport their country loves so much.
