"For many years, all of us here in Shinkoyu have bared the hands of other people's decisions for us. We have had to deal with the torment of people overruling our nation and being told to stand in line and follow the destiny and choices given. But no more. We, the Government, under the power of his Majesty, accept the signing of the petition by the native speakers of a language that varies in another part of our island.
Language in the focus of our land. It is in our name. With that reason alone, we accept that today, Wanggwo Shinkoyu, will no longer refer to the language as Ho'okomese, but under the new name given for our native people.
This language, in our land, is now called Tingviyu. To bare the same similarities as those names of the other languages in our nation.
For the outside people, ting means to "hear", vi is the culture in which to refer to and yu is our nation's name for language. " Hear the Vi language' - we ask today that this message be transferred across our land.
xi-xi. "
