 FINNISH ENTRY SELECTEDHelsinki, Finland — Tonight, the grand final of  Suomalaisen Musiikin Kilpailu took place in Helsinki. After 10 great acts performed, a tense voting process began from which one performer and song emerged victorious.
The entry that represents Finland in  Sofia is none other than...
 SAARA AALTO - "YOU HAD MY HEART"Even though Saara Aalto was originally announced as the Finnish representant, issues with her contract became apparent later on. Because of this, YLE decided to opt for a national selection, and Saara applied to the selection with her song "You Had My Heart".
Saara Sofia Aalto (born 2 May 1987) is a Finnish singer, songwriter, and voice actress. Born in Oulunsalo, Finland, Saara grew up in a musical family and focused on music already as a child and her piano teacher was pianist and pedagog Olga Maslak, born in Odessa, Ukraine. In 1998, at the age of 11, she won the Kotka Maritime Festival song contest for children with one of her own compositions. Saara also won the Charlotte Church international singing competition, organized in US, in 2003 with her own composition. She went to the Madetoja secondary school for music, where she graduated in 2005. After graduation, she moved to Helsinki to study music at the Sibelius Academy, and at the same time also studied singing in the Helsinki Pop & Jazz Conservatory.
In 2007, she participated in Talent Suomi ("Talent Finland"), finishing in the top three. She also participated in season one of The Voice of Finland, where she placed 2nd, and most recently in the X Factor UK, where she also placed 2nd.
"I'm thrilled to go to Bulgaria," said Saara after winning, "It's like a dream come true, I finally won something!"
"You Had My Heart" is a midtempo pop-ballad, performed in English, as well as Mandarin Chinese. Mandarin Chinese has only appeared in the contest twice before, both of the times from  Hong Kong.FULL RESULTS OF SMK #22
