Russia announce that Yulia Samoilova will represent Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018Hopefully with a song that's not painfully boring That was probably the plan all along. Get banned this year and build up sympathy, then return next year with a song that isn't a load of cow manure. Then Julia can become an ~inspiration for people in wheelchairs everywhere~ and by the end of it all, Ukraine will look even worse.

It could be anything related so take it easy...

It could be anything related so take it easy... okay yeah I'm probably thinking too deep about it and taking the "everything's a conspiracy :0" approach. It just seems kinda weird to me that if the Russian delegation really actually wanted to compete this year, they would've accepted the offer to perform via satellite, but they didn't. But planned or not, the whole thing's a beautiful mess. I don't really want Sweden to win because they always do well nowadays and it'd be pretty predictable, but they definitely are the best Eurovision hosts for sure. I miss Petra and Måns
