Well, kind of expected it already, but maybe not that I'll set a new "worst result" of mine - by points and by place as well... I guess there's not much lower I can go anymore, right? (except for 26th, 27th and 28th place) Plus you haven't been last yet. What I'm most concerned about (and a bit sad as well) is that Latvia has been participating in 31 edition, while Ethiopia in only 6... and have won 2 of them... I mean, I don't have anything against the country, the songs or the user, but now I have this question in my mind - Is latvian music industry so much worse than ethiopian that they can win multiple times, while we can't manage even 1? Is it really just pure luck or something else that I don't know about? And I'm definitely not the only one that can ask this question to myself, because there are a couple more countries that have the same "success" as me... P.S. Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to say that you're underrating my country and music. I'm just amazed, how this is possible in such a short term for a country that doesn't have a huge music industry... This is so me as well. I don't know about you, but I resigned to the fact that I just can't win here already long ago.

I'm just amazed, how this is possible in such a short term for a country that doesn't have a huge music industry... Well, if you take a look at the Ethiopian victory this edition, it is actually an American band with an Ethiopian member so I wouldn't consider the song a part of the country's music industry The fact many Africans (in this case Ethiopians) emigrated to the US or the UK, France and several other countries of the world with well-developed music industries even from a long time ago, simply because their countries were corrupt or because their countries were colonies of bigger countries, means that there is also a great chance for them to make a way bigger career than the one they would've normally done, had they remained in their country of origin Apparently there were not many Latvians abroad, in countries such as the ones I mentioned above, which used to "dominate" the music industry some years ago (as we can also see from their success in this contest). This is surely not bad, they just didn't want to leave their country and they decided to make music in it, which just sounds "unusual" to foreigners, as they don't really know your own culture and language Apart from this entry of the winner, you can see that all other entries of theirs that sounded traditional or more "ethnic" didn't do that well (apart from their 1st victory which was a pleasant surprise to me ).

Ouch...my worst result I guess... I kinda feel with Latvia I don't really think I will be able to win ever tbh... I sent some of the most iconic songs of the Hungarian music industry... Also it's a miracle to find a song in English tbh. The trend of singing in a foreign language wasn't really a thing in Hungary.

I think I tagged you enough in the last days. But there'll be one now and one tomorrow and then I give you a break AnnouncementsI'm officially announcing that the submissions for 32nd edition are oppening tomorrow, 27th April at 15:00 CET. But this time edition will be extended because of the Eurovision. And it also turns out my life is quite busy atm and I wouldn't be able to run it at the same speed as usually (which is fast anyway). So be patient if the results are not out the next day after the voting closes. Depending on how fast the edition is running, I'm estimating around 2 weeks time for voting and results should be out during the week after ESC. Thanks for understanding

I also flopped with "C'est comme ça", which is one of the most iconic songs in France. Guessing how a song will be appreciated by foreigners is quite difficult. And personally I don't mind if a song is in English or not.

I can agree with you, but it still surprises me, because this band hasn't even been like known worldwide - even being american... I mean, I really love 80's and 90's music and I've heard a lot of it in my life, but it's the first time I hear about this band and I looked at their most successful songs - I haven't heard a single one of them before, which proves that they were not very popular at all... If we speak about latvians - trust me - there are thousands of latvians or people with latvian ancestry all over the world... there probably isn't a single country where there isn't at least 1 latvian (ok, there probably is, but still)... And there are many that have achieved a lot in their lives, like the guy who invented denim is latvian, many sportsmans, engineers etc., even a swedish former minister of foreign affairs is latvian, so there are multiple latvians with impressive achievements. BUT - the problem is that those people mostly have nothing to do with music, there are only a few musicians I've found and they are not something special... there are a couple that you already know, like Viktoria Modesta, which I already used and then there's a former Limp Bizkit DJ.. that's basically all - others are either unknown and don't have much about them on internet or they are opera singers or composers... so not very impressive I should say...
