Time for a mega post of mine:
I don't think I can judge her vocals as I hardly heard her voice, but the performance was a bit weird and her make up way too glittery.
We all knew he was going to NQ. He had quite a good performance and his vocals were great.
And omg he was crying at the end!
He was pretty good not gonna lie. Yet an unexpected finalist.
Btw. is his drummer a woman or just a too thin man?
Her vocals were alright I think. I'm not the biggest fan of the staging and her dress was ... uhm interesting (?) I'm not too much into the song so I won't miss her.
Btw. I live how the runner-up of
Laurinda's video flopped.
After 20 seconds I was 100% sure he'd be in! That staging was lit!
My favourite parts were when they were shaking their booties. That looked so weird I was actually laughing out loud.
That was a very beautiful performance! Especially the end when her husband appeared (btw. did she sing in Lithuanian there?).
Was she wearing a nightdress?
And omg according to the odds she's reaching the top 5!
Her backing vocalists were a bit weird, yet hilarious.
Can we talk about those 2 shelves with the cat figures behind her?
That's the definition of weird! And I found the ending where he showed his back a bit disgusting, but that's just me.
Btw. I was laughing out loud when the camera was shown, but before actually enjoyed the part he was giving the flower to the girl via camera.
Expected amazing performance. Btw. is it true that they spent EUR 75'000 just on the projections?
Idk, but I'm lowkey disappointed there. But I think they were really good vocally.
I was having literally 0 hopes for it. However I must say that they surprised me a little bit yet even the performance was too messy.
Vocally she was one of the best that evening not gonna lie. But the staging as a whole was quite poor tho. An expected non-qualifier, but I dislike that she's doing worse than Jacques did in Kiev.
It shocked me a little seeing basically the whole center part of the stage lifted up.
What on earth did he wear?
I actually liked her although her vocals weren't the best. I also don't think the blue hand was something I understood. Despite her recent free fall in the odds, I never doubted her final qualification.
However the sobg was really beautiful and I hope we'll see something like that again soon.
Omg that staging was lit!
Especially that wheel in the beginning. Definitely in the top 2 of the whole semi there. For a reason I was still afraid she may fail - and even more when Eleni was in.
Armenia I found it a rather weak staging tbh. However his vocals were pretty good, but all in all an expected elimination.
I'm ofc sad about another NQ of ours, but I think in the other semi they'd have probably made it.
But if I may be honest even though I really like Stones I don't find it any catchy at all. Just like my dad who really heard it for the first time yesterday and we agreed to rather vote for the performance than the actual song there.
Well it's a beautiful song and a pretty good staging.
The piano player being a girl was so obvious.
But all in all I keep thinking that it would fit better into a little concert that the huge Eurovision.
Just one question: What was she wearing?
About the show itself:
First of all I can't believe there are almost only comments about the qualifiers.
Anyway, all in all I really liked it. The hosts did an amazing job and one could really see that they're having lots of fun
My favourite so far is Filomena. Also I liked that she actually went to people unlike Timur last year.
My highlights besides the songs:
The boardgame scene and Eleni and Catherina cheating.
The introduction of Surie was hilarious
whereas Alfred & Amaia were like "Wtf are we doing" and I can't even remember Claudia & Isaura.
The documentation about Portugal was only alright, but I already wasn't the biggest fan of Verka's last year so that's okay. What I really liked though is the Esclopedia.
The pictures of Kiev 2017 and the cover of Amar pelos dois were enjoyable (I didn't know
Lasse could sing.
). O love how a few people there were like "Wtf are those words?".
The probably only thing to criticize is the basically inexistent opening (the everyday scenes of Lisbon were beautiful tho)...
And why didn't they say "Thanks to Ukraine for last year's contest..." yet? Booooo
