 definitely the right song choice imo I was honestly expecting much better songs from Saara, but heck, can't complain now Monsters was - once again - the better song choice out of all 3, where as Domino was way too much of your "cliché eurovision power ballad", while Queens was kinda messy. Monsters has that addictive pop sound, as well as a chorus that easily gets stuck in ones head. It might sound meh at first, but after several listens, you really start loving it more and more. The chorus is kinda generic, as the melody has been used in a lot of songs before, but nonetheless, it still catches peoples attention easily. The performance tho... eh. Saara could easily have delivered a much better performance. Even if I like the neon-theme for the whole performance, idk what made her think of doing it like this. At least she is thinking about changing it towards Lisbon, so she got that going for her. Otherwise, song-wise, this song definitely works, but unless the performance works together with the song, we could see a low placement for Saara in May. Hoping for the best of Aalto in two months  |
