"You Let Me Walk Alone" is a very calm song with an interesting, soulful style. Michael goes really personal in the performance, and his delivery is sincere, which contributes to a very emotional song from the beginning to the end. Despite the fact that many already start comparing this guy's musical style with other known artists such as Ed Sheeran, this guy as a different technique in delivering his songs and it sounds genuine and simple. And you know that most of the times simplicity is effective.
My point of view regarding this song?
To be fair, I'm not too keen on Germany in Eurovision - but once in a while when they deliver something amazing to my ears, they end up last with 0 points apparently (Ann Sophie deserved better, and I'll say this untill the very end probably). However, I rarely despised their entries, but last time that actually really happened they won. Me and Germany have such a great logic, I love that.
Back to Michael's entry - I honestly think this is nice. It's slow, it's true, but yet it's nice. It has its own little charm to it, and yet it managed to keep it throughout the entry and all. My main issue with this is that the last chorus sounds a bit off, and it feels like it ruins the song's atmosphere which built up in the beginning. But that's probably my only disadvantage - and as the year is still going alright, 7 is a good rate.

This is a little boring, but lyrics are great and his voice is more than decent. The contest is very difficult, but Germany can get top 24 this time *coff coff* it is.

Lmao at all the fangirls thinking Mike Singer (the interval act) was by far the best pf the whole show and he'd surely reach the top 3.

I wasn't that very fond of this song at first, but it actually really grew on me a lot, and I am thankful for that. I had Ryk as my official winner before going into Unser Song, and I would have happely given Germany another with "You & I", but if I had to select a runner up, Michael would easily be my choice. Michael has a really beautiful voice, and the song, corresponding to the message of his father, are working splendid together. I honestly adore the lyrics a lot, it's really beautiful, and a great tribute to such an important person in ones life. I can see this song easily grow into a (or even , idek), but at this instance, is what I am giving it at the moment. Glad Germany returned stronger in 2018, compared to the mess that was "Perfect Life"
