I want to thank everyone who voted for me, it's kinda amazing to win with one of my favorite singers and for the 3rd time overall   Especially as I didn't plan to send that song originally, as I had sent her only last year, but I'm glad I did in the end 204 points is also my new record  Happy for Ukraine being 2nd, gave that song  so I'm glad I battled with it for the victory as I'd be more or less pleased with any outcome there Also congrats to Italy for 3rd place, another nice song Netherlands was underrated imo, had hoped for it to do better after it had won the semi-final...
P.S.: HORRIBLE !!! awful, despise; thanks for the nice comments  It's one thing to dislike a winner, but I find this rude, disrespectful and also demotivating tbh. Maybe I shouldn't hold myself back either from now on when I dislike the songs you send |

I kind of expected a good result to be honest, but I'm happy for archieving 100 points Special thanks to  Vinx for your  I'm happy with the winner, very nice song Also I'm EXTREMELY happy for my neighbour  Guatemala for getting 5th place with such an amazing song! Also happy for  Chile for making it in the top 10  I thought  Usa or  Sweden would win, but I'm glad they both got top 10 as well. I should thank for the first time ever, those few countries that supported  Cyprus! Thanks a lot to  Greece,  Guatemala, Austria, Serbia,  Taiwan,  Finland,  Armenia,  Ethiopia and  Venezuela for every single point! My personal expectations were low and as I considered my entry to be a troll, anything but a last place would have been surprising Concerning the results, I should say that this might be (unfortunately) the very first time I am deeply disappointed and do not really agree with them. My heart goes to Guatemala and  Chile, my TOP 2 which fortunately managed to end up in the TOP 10! As for the rest, I like the winner (even gave it  points) but some countries like  Ukraine, Serbia,  Sweden,  Canada are really not my cup of tea and I find them overrated. On the other hand,  Japan,  Malta,  Bosnia & Herzegovina and  Mexico were all close to entering the TOP 10 and they should have actually made it there, eventually. In any case, it was an exciting edition, with a really great and nerve-wrecking voting, even for us, while we were receiving the votes, so I would like to thank everyone once again for having made this edition in Cyprus unforgettable to me! I will correct a little bit the romanian player - what he probably meant to say was: The winner in one word is... Austria! Back to serious things... 18th is decent after being the last to go through from the semifinal and winning the 2nd chance round... I mean - the results are exactly as they could've been expected - in each voting people change their thoughts.. In semifinal barely anyone liked my song, then in the 2nd round I'm suddenly everyone's favorite and then a finish in the right hand side of the table... But I didn't expect myself to actually qualify for the final ,so I guess the overall result is decent... As for the winner - congratz to ferrygraf even though the song imo wasn't really a winners type, but oh well... sometimes they do surprise... it's not like it was a horrible song. While others complain that there are too mayny good songs to be released very soon, I wish latvian artists would make more than average of 1 song per month (at best) that fits these kind of contests... I mean, latvians are usually called the singing nation, but if you take a closer look - it's either opera, schlager or some other traditional type of music, which isn't even posted on internet very often... the rest of the artists that do other genres you can almost count on your fingers... if schlager would be a popular genre here, I could make NF's with 10 or more songs each edition, but I know that barely any of you would consider voting for that genre... so I have to fight with what I have... |
