I hate the fact that I am giving this so high, because I am sure I have more negative to say about this than positive, but w/e I actually really like that the chorus is catchy, as well as it's giving me this "night" feeling, just like City Lights gave me (both written by Tim, lol) It has both a pop-y catchiness to it, as well as a calm night-stroll feeling, it's a good mix. Now to the negatives: the fucKING LYRICS. "Misty moon I'm your loon" "I tear down the firewalls" "I'm stronger than cannonballs" "Luna moon me up" Sandra Bjurman you literally need to get fired, how tf did you write lyrics like these fownifsdoihanfosfiusdfn Literally the song would be all fine if the lyrics just weren't supreme nonsense, christos mylordos. Also, why did they select a pop song for a jazz singer. That's just a wasted opportunity that still makes me mad when thinking about it. Like, if you were ever gonna select a jazz singer for Eurovision, at least give her something that has a jazz-y touch to it. Literally anyone could have sung "X My Heart", but giving it to Aisel was honestly just a huge waste of talent from someone like her, when I could easily see her bring something different to the competition. The fact that Aisel herself also picked the song annoys me a lot as well, ugh. Well, I still like the song, but a most likely rate drop could happen from my part, when there honestly are a lot of mistakes done with the selected song. If Aisel doesn't manage to deliver this live, I can really see this being Azerbaijan's first ever non-qualification, shame. Eitherways, I hope ÍTV are more careful with their selections in the future. If you select a singer from a designated genre, select a song fitting them next time, ty.

Haven't thought like that yet.

I guess that's the difference between being / having heritage from a country with a high qualification rate and coming from a country that's struggling year after year. Because if Anes'd have said that about Switzerland, I'd be probably like "Well okay then. I'm used to it anyway" .

I was very reluctant to give this 12 because although I love the song it just feels very generic in the way that it could represent any country in the contest. There isn't any element that represents Azerbaijan (rip Azeri lyrics).

That counts for almost all of Azerbaijan's entries I've in mind right now tho. The probably only exceptions are 2009 and 2014.

There were rumours that they would sing in Azeri (partly) but in the end they send what they always send: generic songs.
