 ICELAND CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION
RÚV (Ríkisútvarpið) has just confirmed that Iceland will be participating in the 24th edition of North Vision Song Contest regardless of how Hildur places in the 23rd edition.
The HoD, Dýri Brjánsson, ultimately confirmed that the country would be participating in an interview this evening on RÚV, alongside his co-HoD:
Although our entry has mixed reviews, it won't stop us from competing in the 24th edition. Since returning last edition, the interest has been as high as it was in the 17th edition - where Iceland also returned after a HoD change. With this, there is no reason to withdraw from the contest. However what has been decided among the team is that we will wait until the semi final results are released to decide which method of selection will be used. We are currently considering all options available, and will work to devise a plan on selecting our representative.
The HoD stated that while Iceland will definitely be participating, the method of selection is still unknown and the team would rather wait until the semi final results are released before taking a decision. There could be another edition of Söngvakeppnin Sjónvarpsins with possibly more entries, a smaller national selection or an internal selection.
In the meantime, we wish the best of luck to Hildur and everyone else competing in the 23rd edition!

Algeria confirms their participation in the upcoming edition.
Despite the predictions not being in our favor concerning the semi-final result,
the country will keep participating even if we will have to face the pre-qualification round.
This will only have an influence about the method of selection.

Denmark confirms participation — DMGP 19 to take place!
Copenhagen, Denmark
DR has just confirmed that  Denmark will be competing in the upcoming 24th edition of the North Vision Song Contest. It was also announced that Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 19 will be held in order to select the next Danish entry. This was already confirmed by the Head of Delegation of the country, following the first semi-final results of the 23rd edition, when he talked to reporters from NVSCToday:
"Preparations for DMGP 19 have already began, the submissions are open and announcements are expected to be made within the next few days. The national selection will keep the same format as last edition, as it was proven to be quite successful. It is unknown how the juries will be selected this time around though."

Israel is most likely withdrawing from #24.There's still the chance that the country will take part - with an internal selection this time. The official decision is yet to be made and announced.  |

Albania to be present at the 24th North Vision Song Contest!
Tirana, Albania
Albania confirmed today, that we will be part of the North Vision Song Contest once again. In an interview with the Head of Delegation, he said:
"We are very happy to announce that North Vision Song Contest is a big event which through times became one of the most appreciated shows in Albania. Especially after the last qualification of our dear Arilena to the final and the five previous great results we had, made us realise that we do matter to the competition and we are not planning to withdraw any time soon. As we also announced, the entry will once again be chosen internally, as we agreed. Artists have already started reacting to our invitations, known and unknown and we are very lucky to announce to you that we are proud of most of the answers we got! Still the entrant is not decided but will very soon!"
After that interview RTSH had with North Vision journalists cicivloggs, we are awaiting the official answer for the upcoming edition. It was also announced that the entry would be again chosen internaly. |

Armenia to be present next edition again!
Yerevan, Armenia
AMRTV, the national Armenian broadcasting system, confirmed this afternoon that Armenia will be participating at the 24th edition of the North Vision Song Contest.
The head of delegation of AMRTV confirmed on northvision.tv: "We are very pleased about our result on the twenty-second edition of the contest, which is the best one in the history of Armenia at the North Vision Song Contest. Even though we're confirming our participation, it doesn't mean that we are focusing on the current edition. Our hopes for Sona are very high, as we've seen that she's first on the overall betting odds. Still, we can confirm that we're going internal this edition. We have already found some potential entrants are we're still waiting for an answer of them".
Armenia debuted in the North Vision Song Contest at the second edition, without qualifying. It has participated a total of 19 times, qualifying to the final six times, for the first time at the tenth edition with the song "Sirelov Heranum Em" by Emmy.
Its best result so far has been in the latest edition. Lucy, with her song "Best of Me" finished seventh on the grand final with a total of 248 points. |

NTK 1 CONFIRMS KAZAKH PARTICIPATION
AT THE 24TH NORTH VISION SONG CONTEST
2017-10-18, ALMATY - The Kazakh broadcaster NTK confirmed the Kazakh participation for the next North Vision Song Contest. The broadcaster confirmed the format Äwenfestïvali as selection method for the edition.
"10 acts will compete in one Round for the title -Kazakh representative for NVSC 24-. This edition of Äwenfestïvali is going to be very international as we are currently looking for artists and acts from all over the world. We will also include one foreign artist from Kyrgyzstan in our selection. Moreover, international juries wil get the opportunity to vote in our selection.", was said by the Head of Delegation.

Austria officially confirms its participation!
Regarding our future participation in the North Vision Song Contest, I can gladly announce that we have already confirmed our appearance for the upcoming edition. ORF still has absolutely no plans to withdraw from the contest and the public apparently agrees: the first semi final of NVSC 23 gathered the highest amounts of viewers for a Northvision event since the NVSC 17 grand final and thanks to our successful qualification we expect even high numbers for this editions' grand final. This brings me to my next point: so far the broadcaster plans to opt for an internal selection for the second time in a row. We haven't decided on an artist or song yet, since Mynth's result will also have an influence on it, but our internal selection process is almost concluded and the results will be announced in the next weeks, unless there are unforeseen inconveniences.
