Welcome to the 2nd edition of Hljómleikarnir! After failing to qualify last edition, it was decided that an internal selection is kind of a bad idea, so it was decided to revive this after an edition's absence.... but with a twist!
Only one artist will compete with four songs. And that artist is...
Ásgeir!
Born and raised in Northern Iceland, he became popular in 2012 when he released the album Dýrð í Dauðarþögn, or as it is known in english, In The Silence. Then he was known as Ásgeir Trausti. He was on hiatus from 2014 until recently, when he released the album Afterglow in May 2017, under the mononym Ásgeir. All 4 songs in this final will be from the latter album.
