WWW Song Contest #60

First of all, it was a great pleasure to take part in such a brilliant contest like WWWSC, even if it's just for one edition under unusual circumstances. This is probably one of the most unusual online song contest experiences I've been in. How so? I made my main WWWSC debut as the player for the host country due to Ashley needing to be inactive and the contest requiring a host player to get the 60th edition rolling. All I had to do was ask. It was quite awesome to not only have my country of residence the USA, but also be the host player this edition. I was enthusiastic about sharing my own perspective of American music even for a limited time, and it looks like it went well.

Thank you ferrygraf and mimisthesc for allowing me the opportunity to participate. I will continue to be an enthusiastic spectator.

And while I'm still relevant, here's my take on some of the results.

I would've been so upset if this lost. You were my , so any rank lesser than first would've been tragic. You had to win. You sent KARD, my favorite K-pop group right now and with such a strong and dynamic song that isn't like any other K-pop track. Big congratulations! Can't wait to see the contest in Seoul.

I knew this song would put up a fight, and it made me reaalllly anxious. This song is so good though, so I would not have been surprised to see this win.

For a one-shot, 3rd place is fantastic. Thank you so much to that one from the Netherlands and the numerous I got throughout the voting. I guess I did Ashley a favor by making her AQ when she could've missed out on it. Bless you, Matilda for helping my fave win and helping USA reach top three. Thank you so much!


OMFG THIS ENTIRE LEFT SIDE IS AMAZING! Despite not giving points to all of these countries, they were all so good, so I have no complaints about any of the top half, like has that ever happened in my life? I'm so glad to have taken part in such a strong edition.

What is with Philippines giving me false hope almost every other edition? During the voting, it actually looked like Philippines might finally finish in the top 10, then all of a sudden, it loses stamina and places in the middle. It's like the scoreboard is trolling me. Not even a from me would put this in the top 10. It wasn't that great of a song anyway sns. Could you imagine if it got top 10 and I didn't even give it a point? Oh, that would've been ironic.

I genuinely thought that the hype around it would help it, but I guess it didn't.
