After quite a lot of you asking us about the theme of WWW Song Contest #60, which is a Special Edition, the time has finally come for us to make an official announcement about this. This time, after having considered some of the previously suggested themes, as well as a few new ones, we have prepared a list of 6 themes, 1 of which will be the official theme of our 60th Edition.
For the time being, this thread will remain locked. It will be unlocked and open for you to make any posts only once the theme for next edition has been chosen and submissions open as well.
The link for the survey where you can vote for the theme(s) you like the most will be sent out to all of you as a Personal Message. In case you haven’t received the link from us by Friday (19th January 2018) midnight (CET), please contact either mimisthesc or ferrygraf .
Please note that you can vote for at most 2 of the proposed themes and at least for 1 of them. In case you try to vote for more than 2 themes or for none of them, you should receive an error message. There is also a comment box below, which you can also leave blank; commenting is optional. The survey is also anonymous, so any comments you leave will be anonymous, in case you want to write anything.
Here is a more “detailed” description of the 6 themes:
1) Brand New Songs
Every player has to send a song that has been released after the 1st of August 2017.
2) Ethnic/Traditional Songs
The entry could include ethnic/traditional sounds or it could be a song talking about the country you represent. Songs performed in a national dialect or in a minority language of the country are also accepted.
3) Junior Edition
Every player has to send a song that is performed by a kid (less than 18 years old). Players may also submit songs of adult artists, if those had been recorded and released before the artist turned 18.
4) Quotes
Similar to the “Image” theme of WWW Song Contest #30. Players will be given a quote and they have to submit a song which is related to it. For instance, if someone gets a quote about friendship, their entry should be a song about friendship/friends etc.
5) Songs from 1st Representatives
Players have to submit a song of the 1st artist that represented them in the contest. In case the current player is not the 1st one to represent their country in the contest, they still have to submit a song of the artist of the country’s debuting entry.
6) Scratch & Win
Quite similar as a concept to the “Wheel of fortune” theme from Retro WWW Song Contest #40. 50 different themes will be assigned to numbers 1-50. Along with a confirmation post, each player will have to give a number from 1-50 as well. Once confirmations are closed, we will reveal the themes hidden behind each number and people will have to submit an entry according to the theme they will have been allocated. In case a player gets a theme for which they are unable to find an entry (with significant evidence provided of course), there is the possibility of making changes, only under the agreement of the 2 managers.

Cyprus (38), in case I choose 38). That number will remain there and you may not change it. You may choose any number, no matter if someone else has also chosen it (you will simply get the same theme). If someone gets a rather "hard" theme or a theme they don't like and then tries to cheat by editing their original post, keep in mind that we will have the original number they had chosen written in this post, so our advice is not to even consider doing that.
