The Estonian broadcaster ERR has stated, that a participation for the 40th Edition is likely.

  ERT confirms the Greek participation in the International Music Festival 40 and is really close to agree with the artist that will represent the country. For the anniversary edition, the broadcaster has convinced the succesful duo Yiannis Fraseris & Vaggelis Konstantinidis to write and compose the Greek entry, after writing hits for Helena Paparizou, Despina Vandi, Sakis Rouvas and Konstantinos Argiros.  SLOVENIAN PARTICIPATION UNSURE Today it has been announced by RTV-SLO that, despite July Jones' second consecutive qualification to the final, marking the nation's 4th consecutive final appearance, the Slovenian participation in the 40th edition of International Music Festival is currently unsure, and a decision will be made in the coming days or weeks. More news to be revealed as it comes. |

Italy (again) to go internalAfter talks to the council the previously rumoured poll has been dropped. Instead the next  Italian entry will for the fourth consecutive time be chosen internally, the country's preferred way. |

Australia has internally selected.

SBS Australia can officially announce today that we have internally selected an artist for IMF 40. Given that this will be a marking event for both the contest's return and 40th edition, we have selected an artist who truly represents Australian music by being marked down as one of the best Australian artists in history. But the question is... who?
