Despite not falling to the PQR in the Semi Final of NVSC #24, CyBC is more than disappointed to announce that

Cyprus will not participate in North-Vision and therefore won't be a part of it's 25th edition, which is going to be held in Morocco, after Faouzia's victory in Vienna. A return in the 26th edition is also unlikely, but the final decision will be taken at a later date.

a reason because there is always a reason, duh: I'll have to start studying for my final exams soon and I doubt that I will be on the mood to even search for new song(s) (especially when I have to search for Cypriot artists, lmao). I feel lowkey guilty for even withdrawing at that point when there are so many people that want to join but I hope that y'all get why I'm withdrawing. P.S I'll return so don't try to snatch ha

Armenia withdraws for the first time since the ninth edition.
Yerevan, Armenia

AMRTV, the national Armenian broadcasting system, has unexpectedly announced its close down, which is expected to take place on June 15th, during the actual North Vision Song Contest. The economic difficulties of the broadcaster have forced it to be shut down. This decision will affect Armenia in their participation in the North Vision Song Contest, which will have to be cancelled this time. This will be the first time since the ninth edition when Armenia won't be taking part.

This means that the Armenian Radio and Television will no longer be part of the NBU, leaving Armenia without an official member broadcaster in it.

On 15 June at noon local time, the AMRTV channels will stop to broadcast and the AS and IP range of AMRTV will also be cancelled in the Armenian Internet registry, meaning that live broadcasts on the Internet (AMRTV LIVE) will be stopped, as well as the publication of all news articles. Emails sent to the broadcasters will no longer be delivered. Other Internet assets registered by AMRTV will also be closed, notably the official Facebook page and Twitter account."

Still, there are being some negotiations about other Armenian broadcasters to join the NBU instead. The most important broadcaster is the one owned by Tufkai which has notably grown during the previous two years, constantly surpassing the AMRTV channels' audience.

The head of delegation of AMRTV, Aleksandr Sarkisian confirmed on the northvision.tv:

Despite our provisional confirmation, Armenia will unfortunately have to withdraw from the contest. This it due to the Armenian Radio and Television being shut down, as by the time costed more and had fewer viewers than private stations.

We're really sad to miss the first edition celebrated in Morocco. Our delegation had already chosen the Armenian representative and we were already getting ready for the edition, but unfortunately, it's impossible for us to make it.

The whole team is wishing good luck for the participants of this edition, and we hope that Armenia somehow gets to be represented at the contest in the following editions.

Armenia debuted in the North Vision Song Contest at the second edition, without qualifying. It has participated a total of 20 times, qualifying to the final seven times, for the first time at the tenth edition with the song "Sirelov Heranum Em" by Emmy.
Its best result so far has been in the twenty-second edition. Lucy, with her song "Best of Me" finished seventh on the grand final with a total of 248 points.

So as some of you know, I've won the draw for the United Kingdom, and will therefore become its head of delegation at the 26th edition (if I'm not wrong).

I'm really glad for having had Armenia all this time, specially for having the opportunity to dig into the deepest of its music and learn a lot about its culture. It's been 18 editions with it, and I've lost my hopes about it several times, but on the other hand I've always tried to keep believing in the country, which made me succeed in the recent editions.

ROBERT 💙 I promise to keep your path of success. Feel free to make any suggestion whenever you want to, I'll always have them in mind.

Tufkai I hope you also keep the Armenian success ongoing, and hopefully you'll get the first Armenian victory at the contest.
