LTV CONFIRMS LATVIAN PARTICIPATION
AT THE 25TH NORTH VISION SONG CONTEST
5/12/2018, RIGA - The Latvian broadcaster LTV confirmed the Latvian participation for the upcoming North Vision Song Contest. The broadcaster confirmed that the format to choose their entry will be Supernova as selection method for the edition.
"As of now, we can confirm that our selection will decide our entry and hopefully produce us a new star in Europe! We have yet to decide the amount of entries that will take part, but submissions are open!", was said by the new Latvian Head of Delegation Selvin De La Fuente.
The new Latvian team will try to make Latvia amazing with beavers.

 RTL confirms Luxembourg's presence!
Last edition, Luxembourg achieved its highest result with a native singer, thanks to GEZZA's Fall in Love. Despite rumors of the country not participating this edition, RTL can indeed confirm that the country will take part in the Grand Final.

CONFIRMATIONS ARE CLOSED! 45 countries will be competing in  Casablanca for the upcoming 25th edition with 5 countries returning to the competition:  Belgium,  Bulgaria,  Estonia,  Ireland and  Switzerland. Meanwhile, 5 countries have announced their withdrawal from the competition:  Armenia,  Cyprus,  Egypt,  Greece and  United Kingdom. The following countries have failed to confirm or withdraw from the edition within the given deadline and will therefore receive a strike:  Algeria  Azerbaijan  Liechtenstein Luxembourg 1 Slovakia Additionally, the NBU had to revoke the participation of  FYR Macedonia from the edition and the user will receive a strike. 2 Due to having 45 countries for the edition, the Pre-Qualification Round will not be hosted once again.
1 Luxembourg confirmed their participation but will still receive a strike due to confirming after the deadline.
2 The Macedonian user was meant to withdraw after receiving Albania from the draw and therefore was forced to withdraw.

Vienna, Italy confirms its participation for the twenty-fifth edition. The Head of Delegation had this to say to broadsheet La Stampa.
[...] After an amazing tenth place from Betta Lemme, we at RAI have decided to scrap its initial plans regarding an internal selection for this edition - but have not yet decided as to what path we shall take. Either way, we are going to bring our A-Game to Morocco, we are aiming for our second victory!
