FIRST EVENING - LINZ
Gute Nacht Europa, und Wilkommen in Linz für den Anfang von der Österreichische Auswahl ! Ich bin Nora von Waldstätten und ich werde diese Show präsentieren !
I'm going to explain how our selection will be organised. 9 songs have been selected and have been split into three heats, that will take place here in Linz, then in Graz and Innsbruck. The winning song of each evening will be qualified for the Grand Final in Vienna. One wild card will also be given by the national selection committee to one of the six other songs, so you will know the four finalists only at the very last moment.
So tonight, we are going to reveal the three first songs in competition. Our first candidate is Melissa Naschenweng (27 years old from a little village in Tirol called Birnbaum), one of the most famous Austrian Schlager singers. Her song is Net mit mir (from her third and latest album). Melissa's accordion is still present but we also have some country music instrumentals in this entry. We also need to mention that no animal (or accessory man) was harmed during the making of the music video.
Our next contestant is Vida Noa (24 years old), an emerging talent from Graz. Her career began in 2017 with two singles released that became number 1 on a local radio station and she won the last edition of Fender Paramount Contest among over 760 singers or songwriters. Let's discover her beautiful song Bulletproof...
And finally, we have Regina Mallinger aka Ina Regen (33 years old, from Grieskirchen). She participated to the Austrian selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2012, where she was a vocalist for the future winner of ESC Conchita Wurst. Her musical universe is quite bride, including rock, pop and jazz. Wie a Kind (Like a Child) is a very emotional ballad in local dialect.
