  Germany is taking over Austria!Kids n Cats • "Germany'"With a marvelous score of 25 votes, and a margin of 10 votes to the runner-up, "Your Choice for Austria 26" was won by Kids n Cats, who are going to fly the Austrian flag in Rotterdam. Kids n Cats, who describe themselves as "loud, wild, excessive and colorful, driven by an insatiable curiosity towards life, music and the world itself", are an electro-pop quartet from Vienna. According to them, their music style is "hip hop beats mixed with pop finesse, impulsive singing and diverse sounds" and their entry " Germany" is definitely a great representation of that style. GDRN, FLÓNI & RA:TIO TO  ROTTERDAM!
After 6 battles and a grand final, Ferðinn til Hollands #26 has finally come to an end. This evening, RÚV, alongside Austrian broadcaster ORF, revealed their entries for the upcoming edition.
Last night, RÚV revealed the majority of the results. You can check the results up to Group D here!

After leading with 12 points after group D, GDRN & Flóni managed to win the selection by just 4 points over the 2nd place Vök. The margin is one of the closest ever in an Icelandic national selection.
Who are our participants?
GDRN is the stage name of 22 year old singer Guðrún Ýr Eyfjörð Jóhannesdóttir from Mosfellsbær. She released her first single Ein in 2017. Surprisingly, this isn't GDRN's first appearance on the NVSC stage. She took part in the Nordisk Melodi Grand Prix for Iceland and came 2nd with the song Ein.
Floni is the stage name of 20 year old rapper Fridrik Robertsson from Reykjavík. He has become prominent in the Icelandic hip-hop scene collaborating with other Icelandic rappers such as Joey Christ and Birnir.
After an intense voting sequence, they won the national selection with their song Lætur mig which translates as (You) Make Me and was produced by ra:tio. This will be the first time since the 17th edition that an Icelandic language song will be sent to North Vision Song Contest. After winning the national selection, GDRN stated to RÚV that:
We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement! We are so proud to represent our nation on the big stage and bring our language back to North Vision after 9 editions. Thank you to everyone who voted for us from around Europe and the world for giving us this opportunity. We will do our best to continue our country's good results!

SUPER FRIDAY
In just one week (28th September), some of the biggest European Broadcasters will gather together for the SUPER FRIDAY event, in which all of them will reveal their entries for the 26th edition of the NorthVision Song Contest held in Rotterdam.
A total of seven countries from all across Europe will reveal their entries. Here they are, in alphabetical order: Andorra Ireland Kazakhstan Slovakia Sweden Ukraine United Kingdom
Two of these countries will be selecting their entry internally, and five of them will be revealing the winners of their national selections. If there's any country interested in presenting their entry in the show, contact me.

SONNFJORD FOR BELGIUM
 Sonnfjord (2018) VRT can officially announce the Belgian representative for the North Vision Song Contest 26 which will be held in the Netherlands.
The Belgian indie pop band Sonnfjord was chosen internally to represent the country with their song "Lights". We're wishing them best of luck in Rotterdam.
