RTÉ just announced that  Ireland will compete in the 26th edition of the contest.
It’s still unknown if the broadcaster will opt for another edition of Emerald Festival.
A few days ago, the Irish singer Laoise stated during an interview that she might represent the nation at the upcoming edition.
RTÉ didn’t confirm if the rumors are true.

 ICELAND CONFIRMS!
RÚV has just confirmed that Iceland would continue participating in the contest, and thus confirmed their participation in the 26th edition.
The broadcaster has stated that after positive reactions to the Icelandic entry in Europe and in Iceland, the country has no reason to withdraw from the contest. In fact, North Vision is one of the most successful shows overall in the country, gathering thousands of viewers every edition. Ever since the country returned in the 23rd edition, the numbers have been growing, and for this edition, they are expected to grow even more.
Speaking today on RÚV, the HoD of Iceland, Dýri Brjánsson, stated that;
Due to the contest's popularity in Iceland, there is absolutely no reason to withdraw anytime soon, and given that we qualified to the final for the first time since #20, the contest's popularity is just growing every edition. That is a good indicator for us and we wouldn't withdraw when the fans are enjoying the contest.
Another announcement he made was that his Co-HoD, Jósh Allísson, has resigned, as he will now manage another country in the contest. Mr. Brjánsson has stated that he was thankful for all of his work and wishes him the best of luck in the contest. This means that a space had to be filled, and so Iceland now has a new co-HoD, agni . The HoD has stated that he looks forward to working with him, and hopes that he will enjoy his time as Co-HoD.
Fans were wondering about one thing in particular, however - if Iceland would continue hosting Söngvakeppnin Sjónvarpsins to select their act. The HoD responded by saying that:
Nothing is decided yet, and it will also depend on our results in the 25th edition. Right now, we just hope that Blissful will make it to the final and then we will announce more news about our selection process.. I won't leave you waiting for too long!"

Just like always Israel's participation will be decided after the results of NVSC #25. They will have absolutely no impact on the final decision!
And although he's not competing yet, we wish the best of luck to Dennis Lloyd in Casablanca. |

2018-06-25, ALMATY - The Kazakh broadcaster NTK confirmed the Kazakh participation for the next North Vision Song Contest. The broadcaster confirmed that a new format will select the entry.
