MASS PROTEST FOLLOWING DECLASSIFICATION OF GOVERNMENT SPENDING IN HWAESONNA
 Thousands of people, predominately young people, college students, and blue collar workers have flooded the streets of Lephidross,  Hwaesonna's largest city today follow the declassification of the government's budget for 2019 & 2020. The budget includes a 13% slash to funding of agnostic universities, including the public Corre University, the largest school in Hwaesonna. It is notable, however, that state schools officially following Revericism, the national religion, were not affected by the cut. The new budget also includes a 7% decrease in national infrastructure funding, threatening the estimated completion date multiple projects throughout the country, most notably a high-speed rail connecting Lephidross to the capital, Fayressville.
Also included in the budget is a 6% increase to manufacturing subsidies in the Sanji province, a 4% increase to pay for high-ranking government pay, and a 9% increase in budget for the Hwae Navy.
Ara Okumura, the seated Revol in Fayressville commented on the issue, stating "That increased spending in Sanji, the Government, and the Defense is crucial for Hwaesonna's survival. Our military is falling behind in technology and our mining quotas in Sanji have not been meeting expected growth. We had to take away from where we could."
However, the public is outraged at yet another attempt from the Hasoga to undermine the rapid modernization of Lephidross and the rest of the country. Last year, the Hasoga blocked the construction of an airport in Fayressville, citing the protection of culture and historical landmarks. Many citizens are determined to fight back against these most recent cuts. One reason, some community leaders in Lephidross suggest, is that this is the fourth pay increase high-ranking government officials have received in 7 years.
Protests peaceful and making use of flashlights in order to "shine the light upon our government's corruption." Protests are expected to spread to other cities, such as Ozzsu, Miraee, and Kaigee and continue into next week.

 United Nations of Fantasia – Security Council Reform
Today, the UNFSC consisting of  Evergreen,  Flirskmasto,  Fordia,  Lakadamia and  United States of Eldance met in the UNF Head Quarter in Krono.
It was suggested to reform the Security Council for the benefit of all UNF member states.

 Aquia to join the UNFSC as permanent member
It was decided to add one more permanent member, a representive for Latinica. All five members voted for Aquia which means it will join the UNFSC as permanent member. For now it won’t have any veto right.
 Six temporary members to join the UNFSC
Besides the six permanent members, six temporary members will join the UNFSC for six months. After six months, three of the temporary members will leave and three new members will join. The UNFSC divided the wolrd into six voting regions.

REFERENDUM IN YDIWEALTH

Some days ago the minister of Fordia reunited with the minister of Ydiwealth in Ivo CIty, Ydiwealth.
After a nice meeting the two ministers and the Ydiwelath's parlament decided to host a referendum in order to change the name of 3 Ywdi provinces, Alta Krono, Krono & Malalta Krono. The three provinces are located in east Ydiwealth. Because it may lead into confussion with the biggest city of Fantasia, Krono
Yesterday the referendum was held, and we are pleased to reveal the results to the Fantasia World.
NAME CHANGE OF THE THREE REGIONS OF YDIWEALTHAnd our population decided ... YES | NO 61 % | 39 % Therefore the goverment will work on the name change of the three provinces in the following days. THE HOTTEST DAY EVER RECORDED IN KATSYRIA
While temperatures in this month have been averaging around 41°C, a scorching temperature of 54°C was recorded at a weather station in South West Katsyria on Thursday.
According to an official of the Meteorology Department, it is possible that temperature was even higher at other locations but was not recorded due to the absence of monitoring stations in these areas. Also there was the highest temperature of 42.6 degrees Celsius recorded at night. The dry north-westerly winds passing through the desert led to the highest temperatures.
So while it may seem like an oven here, we should be thankful we don't have any natural disaster such as wildfires.
People are fighting with the heat in the best way possible. Every public transport and waiting stations have AC and on the streets people can get free medical aid in special places for that.
The predictions for the next weeks are positve as the temperatures will start to decrease little by little. |
