Azerbaijan announce on 29 September 2018 that the country will participate in the ninth edition. The Method that Azerbaijan will select their entry will be an Internal Selection.

Despite originally confirming,  Austria will be withdrawing from the contest. And so will I for the time being. My interest isn't as high as it was during the last edition, and I don't want to occupy a place in the contest that someone else could have. So Austria will be free. Thanks for everything and I may join the waiting list again soon ^^ |

Slovenia confirms their participation!
Radio Televizija Slovenija (RTVSLO) has confirmed  Slovenia's participation in the 9th edition of the Europa Song Contest, after changing the Head of Delegation. More information regarding the topic will be announced at a later date.
