I personally intend to pick Option A, for two main reasons: 1.) I don't really want to decide someone else's "fate" here. Even if I suggest 3,4 or 5 songs, the other player might not like a single one of them, and the idea of forcing them to send something they dislike isn't something I'm fond of. 2.) I'm honestly not sure if I'll be motivated to research that much (when I get an "exotic" country); recent songs wouldn't be a problem most likely, but finding a good number of songs that are old enough and haven't been sent yet might be very tricky for some countries. Even for Austrian songs it's sometimes not clear at first sight when it's released for example. So It might even require research skills in a language I can't speak If someone wants to do the challenge, that's cool, but I also find it good to have two options so people can pick what they prefer.

Pretty much my reasons too for picking A along with the fact that i don't think i would even have the time to make deep research for retro songs from more "difficult" countries that i would not even know anything about anyways as you say, recent songs are much easier to find I also find A much more suitable for me as a player

I personally agree a lot with ferrygraf italix and тнєяσиттi95 why option A is the "better" one although I'm eager to see what other people may choose for me (since I haven't received many suggestions either). Plus with my luck in life I'm pretty sure that I'll get something like etc. Also this is really me: I also find A much more suitable for me as a player.

is it possible to voluntarily team up with a certain country? like when two users agree to build a pair, would that be accepted or does it have to be randomly? I don't know how to keep track, or how to go about this without creating chaos. I think it's for the best if it's random, so everyone has a chance to get a bigger or smaller country. After you know who your pair is, you can, of course, discuss with them.

Sorry for oversharing, but based on the reactions, I do not see any problem at all. I mean, majority of the participants (will) pick Option A, and there are (will be) only a few players opting for Option B. Currently, it is only three players ( Anthony, me and Peter) who preferred Option B, meaning that all three of us accept the challenge even with "difficult" countries. If a few representatives from those countries would prefer Option B, this can be taken into account in the process of building pairs, as at least three of us are ready to do the required research. And the remaining players - majority, who opt for Option A, can make the suggestions for themselves without having "difficult country" challenge, in a way they prefer. I just think that everyone should comment about his/her perspectives on the theme and mention his/her preferences, so a solution can be reached. Because only then we can know if there is a "difficult country" challenge at all, and if there is, to what extent this risk is, in order to deal with the situation.

What if we first draw the pairs and then each pair decides, which option they want to do. If they both think that the country they are paired with is too hard, then they can opt for "Option A", but if both see that their pair isn't hard at all (for example, a pair of & ), then they can both agree on doing "Option B" (if they aren't already considering "Option A" as the only solution). I think this might be easier than to look for potential "Option B" players before the draw is even made. I hope you get the idea. P.S. I'm open to do both options, if the pair requires it, even though I do find B a bit more exciting than A EDIT: Most important part of it is to have both parties open for discussion (if required) and be available to reach (so it doesn't take months to decide), although if a pair can't agree straight away, then they should just do option A.

^ This could possibly mean every pair is "stuck" with option A in the end.

Option B could be interesting, but it depends on the country we are paired with. If I'm paired with for example, no offense, but I don't know any artist from there and I don't even know where I could search. I think that the best would be to draw the pairs THEN to let the two players decide if they want to select songs for each other. Or make pairs with players from the same geographic area. No offense even for me itd hard haha
