About the singer

Billie Marten, born as Isabella Sophie Tweddle, was born as child of Niol parents in the small town of Ripon, in 1999. Already at the age of 7 she started singing and playing the guitar, with the age of 9 she started to upload videos of her singing on YouTube. It took her 3 years until she already gained wide popularity: a cover of the song "Middle of the Bed" went viral and made her by the age of 12 alread known to music experts. Already in 2014 she started fully pursuing her music career by releasing a single and later that year her first EP. In January 2015 she signed to a major record label. The same year she released her second EP, "As Long As", which led to another growing popularityand first recognitions outland, particularly her home country Niolskiaj. In 2016 her first album followed. The Alpaca Lover told in her speech after winning the Lidonian NS that "being just able to perform in my parents home country is unbelievable. I really love Niolskiaj and being able to compete for my home country in front of a crowd of natives is unbelievable." Billie Marten will follow the footsteps of another half-Lidonian, half-Niol act, Gabrielle Aplin who competed in #11.

The song she'll sing is called
BIRD

Bird is a song about how words can hurt you more than it looks like. It makes allusions to suicide and depression. Billie Marten, who was more an indie-folk artist before, wrote Bird as a simply beautiful piano ballad.
The song won the first edition of NP/VS in a demolishing manner, gaining an unreal amount of 46% of the votes and therefore clearly above the tied second

Saro Wins in Hwaesonna!

After 22 nations casted their votes in

Hwaesonna's first national final, The Hwae Home 1, it was revealed that Saro would represent the nation in

Drukana with his song "Vapor". He received votes from 12 of the 22 nations voting, a startling 54.5%. The full results of the selection can be found here.

Saro is a Neo-R&B/Electronic artist from the tourist town of

Kaigee, a small coastal community in the northwest of the country. After moving to Lephidross in his young adult years, Saro began his participation in political activism nearly immediately. After becoming a well known figure among his peers in the industrial sector of the city, he turned to music. Being his first love, music seemed like a natural progression to advance his cause. He quickly gained popularity with his first EP, In Loving Memory and became a local celebrity. His second EP, Boy Afraid was released this year and only cemented his influential status in the Lephidross music scene.

Following Snow Ghosts' unexpected victory in

Niolskiaj, there has been uncertainty regarding the selection method for the now host entry - with rumours suggesting that Niolfiestyval 14 was to be cancelled in favour of an internal selection to celebrate the special occasion. These rumours came after the official voting poll was seemingly hacked shortly after the Niol victory in

Baesnia, inaccurately giving

Ex Makina a 130% lead over the rest of the pack/

Today, Net Niolskiaj (NN) confirmed these rumours to be true - and the Niol artist has already been chosen internally. "We are hugely sorry to all of the artists who competed in the selection, but the opportunity to host the contest may not come up again and the whole team felt as though we needed to make everything as special as possible. All artists will, of course, be given the chance to participate in the contest again if they so wish."

MITSKI!

Mitski (full name Mitski Miyawaki) is an indie rock musician, born in

Bekls, Niolskiaj to a

Ruyjinese father and an

Aquian mother. Due to her father's job, she and her family moved frequently, living in multiple countries including

Wyvernbourne,

Evergreen,

Te Ao,

Achróa and

Jarea, before moving to

Aquia, where she participated in a national selection for the Fantasia Contest, which she did again after moving to the

Ruyjin Republic. Earlier in 2018, she moved back to her home country and tried again, with the song "Townie". The selection was cancelled, though she has now been selected internally. It has not been specified if "Townie" will be the song she will be appearing in the contest with.
