I don't really like option A so I would rather go for option B but I'm clearly not ready to waste days of my life in researches if I get a too exotic country (and I don't have free days anyway). I suppose I'm not the only one who thinks that. Option B is risky no matter what and it's up to you if you'd like to take it. I understand the time problem myself. As I do spend a lot of time searching for songs in general. And when it comes to new territory, it takes time. An exotic country might not be the only "problematic" one though. As I have mentioned, in WWW Special Edition I got Ethiopia, which I had no idea about. But in FoM I got Sweden, which couldn't be more opposite than Ethiopia. I had way too much to choose from and again it took me time to pick one. For the time reasons, I'm hesitant to choose option B as this edition will take me enough time as it is. So getting an easy country on paper might be more time consuming than you might think. Also, people giving Costa Rica as an example of a hard country, I found a decent song in 5 minutes, by a new artist. You can always refer to the wikia page as the country participated for a long time anyway. Researches for modern songs are much easier than retro ones. The task is to find songs from one particular country, older than 10 years, that have not already be sent to WWWSC or Retro WWWSC in whatever language for whatever country. Modern songs are often published on official channels and most of the time, you can find information about the artist following the links to the social medias in the description of the video or by making a Google research of the artist and/or the title of the song. For example, I have in FoIM and in SVSC, and the main issue is to find the connection between a given singer and one (or both) or these two countries. Sometimes it's quite hard (especially when I have only a nickname) but I succeed in obtaining the information for more than 95% of the songs I find. But if I hadn't access to information in social medias, this rate would dramatically decrease, and if I wasn't able to read Cyrillic alphabet, my time of research would significantly increase. Moreover, if the video is not older than 10 years, finding the date of the release of the song can be quite hard, especially in a language I can't speak. Same for finding out if the song is an original one or a cover and for identifying the other versions. The rule that says that we can only host our own country has been made in order to avoid such of issues. There are several categories of countries: 1) Countries that I've been following for more than 10 years, and I would just have to pick songs in my "warehouse" or in my memory or to take them for "anchoring" my research. 2) Countries where I can make deep researches in vernacular language(s) (I can speak French, English, German and Italian and I understand more or less the other Roman languages: Spanish [easy], Portuguese [quite easy] and Romanian ). 3) The other countries.
I wish I were able to choose option B only for categories 1 and 2.

After one day we have 23 countries confirmed. From last edition only italix rashidabu Aless and (via e-mail) haven't stated if they want to take part. Deadline is tomorrow, 12th October.
Some countries from option A have already sent me the songs for approval. If you're in A, you're free to do it, so I don't have to check 100 songs all at once.
