ICELAND CONFIRMS!
RÚV has confirmed this evening that Iceland will of course be taking part in the 27th edition of the contest, with HoD Dýri Brjánsson confirming the news on Icelandic television tonight.
Despite the odds being low for GDRN & Floni, this hasn't discouraged the Icelandic broadcaster from participating, with Mr. Brjánsson adding that: participation in North Vision is necessary for Iceland and that fans can expect Iceland participating regularly in the near future.
Regarding the method of selection, a national selection being held this time is questionable. While RÚV has held a national selection every edition since their return in the 23rd edition, nothing is certain for this edition. RÚV has instead stated that they will await the results of the 2nd semi-final to determine how they will select the Icelandic act and, should Iceland end low in the semi-final, the broadcaster will very likely opt for an internal selection.
More news to come soon!

Montenegro confirms for NVSC 27!23/10/18 • PodgoricaThe announcement of the Montenegrin participation is usually a belated one, but for the 27th edition, RTCG have been quick to confirm that Montenegro will be present for NVSC 27, regardless of the result. The 26th edition in Rotterdam can already be seen as successful in the eyes of the Montenegrin public, with Nina Petković qualifying from the Pre-Qualification Round and currently being predicted in the betting odds to qualify from the semi-final.
This confirmation of participation comes alongside a confirmation of change in Head of Delegation, with the previous HoD Max Nikolajuć, who had joined in NVSC 22, making way for a new Head of Delegation. In a statement released this evening, RTCG commented: "We are very grateful for everything Nikolajuć has done for us, and are equally excited for the future of the Montenegrin participation in the North Vision Song Contest."
"It has become increasingly difficult for Montenegro to get a good result in recent editions, and as such we will be aiming to change our approach to our entries and maybe send things people aren't expecting and take some risks. Since our last final back in edition 13, public interest has slowly been declining and this is something we are looking to address, with greater promotion of the contest and our entries. The future is bright!"
It is believed that the first Montenegrin entry under the new delegation has already been selected internally.
Montenegro started their North Vision journey fairly successfully, with Savo Perović's "Iznenađenje" reaching the final and finishing in 20th place. However, this would become one of Montenegro's only four final appearances, and the following 8 edition saw non-qualifications and one withdrawal. The 10th edition brought some surprising and much needed success, and "Odlazim" by Andrea Demirović winning the semi-final and then coming 5th in the grand final brought an unlikely automatic qualification to the Montenegrin track record.
The first and only Montenegrin AQ was widely celebrated, and Jelena Tomašević put up a respectable performance of her entry "Radio Svira Za Nas" and gave the country another 20th place. A withdrawal followed in the 12th edition, but Jelena Kažanegra oversaw the Montenegrin return for NVSC 13 and reached what would be Montenegro's last final to date, finishing in 23rd place. Goga Sekulić and Jasmin Jusić's "Vuče, Lopove" came close to qualifying in the following edition, and a respectable 12th in the semi-final followed from "Preventiva" by Anabela and Boban Rajović, but so far there has been no such luck for Montenegro and it has now been 12 editions since they've seen the final.

It was at this point that I couldn't believe there is a 27th edition in progress. Why shouldn't there be a 27th edition?

Czech Republic confirms their participation!
Česká televize has just announced on a press release that Czech Republic will be seen in the next edition of the North Vision Song Contest whatever result the country achieves in the ongoing edition.
Even though Česká televize didn't announce whether the entry will be selected internally or via national selection, according to rumors ČT is planning a new music competition which is likely going to be used as a national selection for NVSC.
