Shemalena GomezMarika Hackman - "Driving Under Stars"I know I already sent Marika Hackman once this season, but personally for me this is one of the most fun and original indie Christmas songs; it's not cheesy, it's not pretentious, and yet it still maintains a clear Christmas spirit. It's just a Christmas song done from a different angle and it's why I think it's a good choice for this week, as I absolutely wanted to go with something original (i.e. not a cover of a Christmas classic) but also something that doesn't sound dime-a-dozen and cheesy, regardless of its originality. "Driving Under Stars" was my original choice for the week, but fearing I might be voted down for using the same artist twice I did try to scour the web in order to find a suitable replacement, but didn't find anything as good as this, in my opinion at least. Therefore, I am here to trust my guts and that's why I'm going with "Driving Under Stars". 2:55+ |
