 DNS 25 COMES TO AN END! Oslo, Norway • 25 April 2019 Tonight the 25th edition of Den Norsken Sangen, one of the longest-running national selections in the history of the contest concluded with a close battle to the top 2. NRK is proud to present the next Norwegian hopeful:AURORA • "ANIMAL" AURORA managed to win again in her second DNS attempt with her alt pop song "Animal" and got therefore the ticket to  Bern in order to represent  Norway again.
Aurora Aksnes is no stranger to the European music hall. Her debut EP Running with the Wolves was released through Decca Records in May 2015, receiving widespread approval from online music blogs and national press. Later the same year she provided the backing track for the John Lewis Christmas advert, singing a cover of the Oasis song "Half the World Away". This cover appears as a bonus track on the deluxe version of her debut studio album, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend, which was released worldwide on 11 March 2016.
Her music is characterized by a dreamy, emotional and sophisticated pop, but still very catchy and direct; in the instrumental sections there are electronic, orchestral and folk elements.
AURORA has already taken part in the 15th edition of the contest with "Running with the Wolves" coming 9th and after a long time she took the decision to come back. Animal is written by Aurora herself, Toby Gad and David Dahlquist. Aksnes stated: “I spend a lot of time thinking about humans. And I wanted to make a song wrapped in a blanket of obliviousness whilst speaking the wonderful and horrible truth that I see in us.
We are always thriving for something. If it’s love, money, sex, success, power or just a bigger piece of a delicious chocolate cake. It’s very interesting. It’s grotesque. It’s beautiful. We are always hunting for something.
We are animals hunting for animals.”

A NEW DUTCH ARTIST HAS BEEN CHOSEN!
After a successful 27th edition, with My Indigo qualifying to the Grand Final and finishing 9th in Ukraine, AVROTROS has found its next song to represent the Netherlands!
AVROTROS had orginally gone with another edition of NoordVisie Song Festival, but due to scheduling issues and a tighter budget than expected, the broadcaster was forced to cancel the national selection for the first time since the 19th edition of North Vision Song Contest.
