LAST FEW NAMES DROPPED
Tomorrow is the day, as we'll get to know our final 28 acts + the titles and songwriters. Prior to tomorrow, Tobbe Ek has, during Saturday and Monday, dropped the remaining names he's sure about.
First up is a recognizable face, namely Mohombi. Mohombi previously made his MF debut back in 2005 together with his brother, but did not make it far enough into the competition. It didn't take long until he managed to smash the charts all over the world with songs such as "Bumpy Ride" and "Coconut Tree". He made his return to the Melfest stage in 2019 with "Hello", and finished on a respectable 5th place in the Grand Final. This would be Mohombi's third attempt at Melodifestivalen.
Second up is William Strid. William made his appearance in the music scene when he competed in Swedish Idol in 2018, where he finished on a 5th place overall. His competition in the 2020 edition would be his first ever original track. This would be Strid's first attempt at Melodifestivalen.
Third up is someone who has dreamt of being on the Melfest stage, Klara Hammarström. She has often appeared on the TV-show "Familjen Hammarström", which follows her family and their hobbies as horse-riders. Klara herself is experienced in riding, but has wholeheartedly focused on music instead. She's been releasing many songs lately, including "Break Up Song" and "You Should Know Me Better". This would be Hammarström's first attempt at Melodifestivalen.
Next up is a major Melodifestivalen veteran, namely Nanne Grönvall! Nanne has made several appearances in Melodifestivalen, ever since 1986, as a matter of fact. In 1986, she competed in the band Sound of Music with "Eldorado", finishing on a 4th place in the Super Final. In 1987, Sound of Music returned with "Alexandra", finishing once again on a 4th place in the Super Final. In 1996, she competed in the ethno-group One More Time with "Den vilda", which ended up winning Melodifestivalen, giving them the ticket to represent Sweden in Oslo, Norway, where they finished on a marvelous third place. Nanne made her debut as a solo act in 1998, where she competed with "Avundsjuk", coming yet again on a 4th place in the Super Final. She returned in 2003 with "Evig kärlek", but was unfortunately eliminated in the semi final at a 7th place. She made another return in 2005 with "Håll om mig", being a major favourite to win, but barely missed the victory by 2 points against Martin Stenmarck's "Las Vegas". She made her last appearance in 2007 with "Jag måste kyssa dig", which made it to the second chance, but was eliminated against Magnus Uggla. Nanne also contributed to many Melfest songs as a songwriter, her latest one being Arvingarna's "I Do", which finished 7th in the Grand Final. This would be Grönvall's eight attempt at Melodifestivalen.
Another recognizable Melfest returnee is Sonja Aldén. She made her debut in 2006 under the alias "Sonya. She competed with "Etymon", but failed to make it out of the semi final. She returned the next year with "För att du finns", which made it out of the second chance, and landed on a 6th place in the Grand Final. Despite the placement, the song still managed to chart at a first place in the Swedish Charts, and stayed like that for 26 consecutive weeks. She returned to the Melfest stage years later in 2012, with the song "I din himmel", which unfortunately did not make it out of the semi finals. This would be Aldén's fourth attempt at Melodifestivalen.
And last, but not least, is a highly forum-active artist, Dotter! Johanna "Dotter" Jansson has been quite a recognizable face on the forum, having been in many of the contests (FC including). Since 2014, she's been releasing many songs, such as "My Flower", "Dive", "Evolution", and "Rebellion". She made her artist debut in Melodifestivalen in 2018 with the entry "Cry", but did not make it out of the third semi final, despite being a favourite to make it. Besides her artistic side, she has also composed several songs for Melfest, including Mariette's "A Million Years" and Lina Hedlund's "Victorious". This would be Dotter's second attempt at Melodifestivalen.
While we wait for tomorrow's announcement, keep in mind that we still got four unknown acts remaining, plus that any of these artists could still be left out from the announcement tomorrow, considering that, while Tobbe received information from many credible sources, they're still rumours.
We may also get an extra update from Tobbe Ek tonight about an extra act, or a list of acts he's still doubtful about, which I will update here if it were to happen.
However, everything will be answered once the press conference starts tomorrow at 12:00 CET, so stayed tuned for our 28 hopefuls

and just like the previous post said, Tobbe Ek did indeed post a list of names he's heard but couldn't confirm in time, so here's a quick translation of each act:
ACTS I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED ABOUT
a young unknown guy from the label Ten has heard the same description from two sources, but no name. a guess is Noak Hellsing, but guesses won't do much
Ida Redig one source confirms that she is in, while others confirm that she has sent in songs and are in the final stages, but nothing that is 100% confirmed
Andreas Weise one source states that he's in. he's also been part of at least one songwriting camp during summer, and many speculate that he is definitely in due to his victory in Stjärnornas Stjärna, but not many sources state that he is 100% in
ACTS THAT HAVE BEEN HIGHLY CURRENT
Mariette there's already been interest from Mariette's team to compete during spring, if they found the right song. there's also been a rumour that she might be doing a duet with someone. Robin Bengtsson, perhaps?
Omar Rudberg It seems like Omar might have been part of SVTs original shortlist, but might not have made it to the final 28, or?
ACTS WHICH SVT WOULD LOVE TO HAVE IN
Eric Saade SVT has been hunting him during autumn, and many songs have been tested. He may be one of the few names which show up tomorrow. However, if he's in, he's definitely a contender, as Eric is gonna aim for a victory. But he has also a wedding during May, so that might be a problem.
Carola Have tried many songs, but it doesn't seem like she'll be in the 2020 edition after all. If she still were to change her mind, any of those chances might have been blown away due to Tobbe Ek's early announcement of her participation (gg Tobbe)
Felix Sandman With a success from 2018, as well as critically acclaimed with his role in the series "Störst av allt", SVT would definitely secure a place for him, if he was to accept.
Chris Kläfford With a Swedish Idol victory, as well as a semi-final placement in AGT, he was part of the earlier speculations, but it doesn't seem like he'll be part of the top 28 in the end.
ACTS WHICH HAVE DECLINED
Etta Zelmani Reportedly been selected by the jury, but has later changed her mind and declined, or has she maybe changed her mind? We'll see tomorrow.
ACTS WHICH HAVE BEEN SPECULATED OVER
Erik Segerstedt His name was speculated quite late, but only as speculations.
Malcolm B His name was speculated for a short time, but could just be a speculation.
William Segerdahl Was also speculated for a short time last month, but the speculations died out after it was found out that it was the other William from last years Swedish Idol who got a spot.
ACTS WHICH HAVE SENT IN SONGS
Jennifer Brown The soul-singer has been interested for quite some time now.
Viktor Frisk Yepp, the Samir & Viktor members has apparently sent in at least one solo song.
Andreas Wijk Barely missed out last year. Could this year be his shot?
Byggis & Mackan The former professional alpine skier (who later became a Youtuber with Mackan) is seemingly interested to take part, but their song have supposedly been declined, as they've been searching songs during autumn. In the end, it doesn't seem like they've made it in, or have they?
and that was all the speculations Tobbe Ek could provide to us. Again, the announcement is tomorrow during 12:00 CET, where we will finally see our 28 hopefuls. Who will represent Sweden in Rotterdam? Time will tell

Eric has also a wedding during May, so that might be a problem.
Oh what? Now that's exciting news.
I'm generally not expecting anything (so far), but I just hope for something good and please a bit more original than the last few years (especially 2016 - 2018). And maybe something different for once?
