SPANISH ENTRY Mabel - Don't call me up According to various sources, this is not eligible for Spain, I am afraid. Apparently none of her parents is from there (they are British and Swedish) and she was raised in Sweden. It just happened that she was born in Malaga but this doesn't really make her Spanish. In case you can provide us with some reliable evidence that she's connected to Spain, other than the fact she was just born there, then it should be fine - for now the entry is not eligible. Sorry for the inconvenience. According to the spanish wikipedia ( es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mabel_(cantante)) ,in addition of being born in Malaga, she has the spanish nationality and was raised there untill moving to Sweden.

This is apparently the case just for the Spanish Wikipedia, as in all others, Malaga is only referred as her birthplace. Regarding her citizenship/nationality, apparently the fact she was born there is the reason why she got it but literally any other page (except the Spanish Wikipedia) mentions she was raised in Sweden before moving to the United Kingdom. I am therefore afraid that this is not enough evidence.

She was because her dad is Jamaican and if you want I can provide you with sources proving this.

Alicia Keys was approved for Jamaica but Mabel not for Spain? She was because her dad is Jamaican and if you want I can provide you with sources proving this. Is it true or not, we can't know for sure, because several sources i checked about that never proved it for real. However imo the connection is bigger if a singer is born in a country than only having one parent from there.

Well then the same can be applied in Mabel's situation - we don't know if she was raised in Spain or not. And although this may not sound nice to you, it's your opinion but it doesn't mean we or our rules have to agree with it.

I be neutrals about this Discussion!
I would only say, you must not agree with the Rule, but Accept it, who makes the Rule!
Makes that sense, what I like to mean?
