Episode 1 • What's Your Boggart? click the logo to watch the recapWelcome back ghouls! Before we start, we'd like to remind you of the principles of House of Musical Horrors: glamour, filth and horror. If it wasn't clear before, it's clear now and going forward we'd like to make sure all of you keep that in mind when picking your songs. And remember: we're not here to judge your taste in music. Everyone's entitled to their own and it's all subjective. We are only here to judge the choices you make as they relate to this competition and the challenges put before you. The results and critiques will be posted soon.

Feralia First up, Feralia. Let's hear what the judges had to say about your floorshow. Donatella Versace: Good job dolcezza! The song is excellent and I really felt THE FEAR while listening to it. I’m impressed and I can’t wait to see what’s in store. Bravo! Junglepu$$y: Outstanding job this week. I really loved the sound of this, and the fear you described is also very clear from the lyrics. I think this ticks off basically all of the boxes of what I personally was looking for. A very good start for you. Krampu$$y: Yas you did amazing this week sweetie. The song was good and it fit to the challenge, nothing more to say really! Hope you keep it up because I was positively surprised with you. Elvira: Not only is this song just a banger, this song did the best at representing the monster's fear this week. The lyrics did a fantastic job at representing your fear, but the overall vibe of the song added to the vibe as well. Fantastic job this week.

Chlamydia Next up, Chlamydia. Let's hear what the judges had to say about your floorshow. Junglepu$$y: Whilst I appreciate the song for what it is, it's just not necessarily something that I think belongs in a competition like this. As well as that, it's not instantly clear how this particular song represents your fear. I feel like even with your fear, there could've been better choices that you could've made instead. Elvira: I loved your song this week, however, I couldn't help but notice that that the song had only a vague connection to your fear. In the future, I would greatly advise that you apply your choices more to the challenge. Krampu$$y: First, let's start with the positives: the fear you chose was quite unique and different from most others and, while the song wasn't directly about the fear, the lyrics still fit. Sadly, I didn't like the song that much. It was a bit too vanilla for this competition in my personal view and even if I look past the cute sound, it was rather flat and bland. Donatella Versace: That’s a cute song bambina! And definitely an original fear. Unfortunately, it didn’t really click and I’m still hungry for MORE. I know you can do better honey.

Genna Cide Next up, Genna Cide. Let's hear what the judges had to say about your floorshow. Elvira: This was a good effort this week. The song portrayed your fear very clearly. The song was very good, but would've been better if it was a bit shorter. You've proven you have the skills to succeed, just hone your craft a bit more next week and you can take the win. Junglepu$$y: You've stepped into this contest with the right mindset. I think this choice is really quite good and for sure is a fitting choice for the category you were given, but I feel like there's still some room for you to improve, as there always is, and come back even stronger. Regardless, a good first week for you. Donatella Versace: Very original! Not the biggest fan of the song but it OBVIOUSLY stands out. The description of your fear is flawless. I’m really intrigued... Krampu$$y: Your song was pretty good in my opinion and I definitely got your fear from it. Not my favorite song of the week but definitely one of the better ones!

Donna the Dyke Next up, Donna the Dyke. Let's hear what the judges had to say about your floorshow. Krampu$$y: Wow, I'm shook. I could not believe it. You really did an amazing job babe... at making me jealous of deaf people. I'm sorry to say it but I found your song terrible. You did good with the connection to the challenge, as the lyrics fit, and the verses weren't bad either but that chorus was honestly atrocious. You sent one of the riskier songs and sadly I don't think it paid off. Donatella Versace: Such a scary song...in a bad way. This is messy and not really enjoyable meanwhile the lyrics perfectly represent your fear. A confusing contribution, certamente. Elvira: I understand what you were going for this week, but this was a miss. The chorus and verses are fine on their own, but together the song just sounds like a mess despite doing a good job at representing your fear. However, the challenge is to send a good song just as much as it is to send a song about your fear. You only succeeded in one of these. Junglepu$$y: I think I have to express my disagreement with the rest of the judges here. I actually liked your choice and I definitely believe it fits the challenge you were given. That being said, I still absolutely think there's loads of room for improvement here. I think the song is good, but that doesn't always mean it's good enough.

Yellew Marzulum Next up, Yellew Marzulum. Let's hear what the judges had to say about your floorshow. Donatella Versace: Well, well, well... The fear is interesting, we know you a bit better now. But... This song is extremely underwhelming. Scusa. Elvira: Not going to lie, this was a big miss. Not only has this song been sent to DSR (and bottomed) the song was just uninspired. It was not bad, but by no means do I want to listen to it again. Krampu$$y: Again, I think your song fit the challenge and everything, but the song itself just wasn't the tea. It had good parts and bad parts but overall I felt like it dragged a bit. I also think that sending a former DSR song as your first HMH entry wasn't the best idea, even if you simply forgot about it. Junglepu$$y: I'm afraid this song just really missed the mark for me this week. It fits the challenge, I suppose, but I can't look past the fact that I just don't think this is a good song. If you wish to succeed in this competition going forward, I definitely think you need to put more thought into your entire concept.

Mathew Horrod Next up, Mathew Horrod. Let's hear what the judges had to say about your floorshow. Elvira: Fantastic job. This song fully embodied Filth, Glamour, and Horror. The vibe of the song also just sounded lonely, a step beyond lyrics representing the fear. A truly excellent detail to catch so early in the season. Junglepu$$y: A very strong showing from you. I definitely got exactly what you laid out from this and the song is also just absolutely brilliant. I don't intend to shower you with compliments though so I'll leave it at that. However, I think you're one to look out for if you keep this up. Donatella Versace: Fantastico. Really loved the atmosphere of the song. Your description was a bit short but still satisfying, the music did the job. Grazie! Krampu$$y: I loved your song, it was pretty much exactly what I wanted to see this week. It also fit with the challenge, I fully got your fear from the lyrics and the song expressed them perfectly.

Fondall Kats And finally, Fondall Kats. Let's hear what the judges had to say about your floorshow. Junglepu$$y: I have to admit that I've definitely never been much of an AURORA fan, I'm afraid. The song is alright I suppose and I definitely think it's not the worst fit for the challenge you were assigned, but that's about it. Mediocrity across the board. Krampu$$y: I appreciated that you fit not just one, but two fears and generally I understood why you chose this song for these fears. The song was a little basic though and nothing outstanding. Overall it just felt a bit too safe and I think you could've done more with this challenge. Elvira: This was a choice. I could at least understand your fear by listening to the song. Not that I'd want to listen to it. The artist choice was uninspired and I feel it failed to represent Glamour, Filth, and Horror. Donatella Versace: Sweetie, that’s quite a choice. Interesting fears but the song is a bit...basic? I couldn’t really connect with it. I think you can go further than that.
