MALI CONFIRMS
ORTM has just confirmed that Mali will participate in Associate Broadcasters Final with hopes to get 1st place and get a chance to participate in NorthVision Song Contest #30 in Malmö. Today the broadcaster has also revealed an artist and the entry which will represent us.
Meet
OUMOU SANGARÉ
Oumou Sangaré (born February 25, 1968 in Bamako, Mali) is a Grammy Award-winning Malian Wassoulou musician, sometimes referred to as "The Songbird of Wassoulou". Wassoulou is a historical region south of the Niger River, where the music descends from age-old traditional song, often accompanied by a calabash. Oumou Sangaré is considered an ambassador of Wassoulou; her music has been inspired by the music and traditional dances of the region. She writes and composes her songs, which often include social criticism, especially concerning women's low status in society. The song she will perform is...

AUSTRALIAN ENTRY REVEALED i'd like to let Dennis know that he's a BEAUTIFUL person.
Earlier today, the Australian broadcaster SBS officially confirmed their participation in the Associate Broadcasters Final, an event organized by the North Broadcasting Union to celebrate music from all over the world and giving the chance to one country to represent home soil in Malmö. Let us present our entry... THE WAY THAT YOU LOVE ME will be sung by Vera Blue! The new track released specially for the North Vision Song Contest is super different for Vera Blue. It has a rushed tempo and an upbeat sound that’s juxtaposed by dark lyrics. ‘The Way That You Love Me’ was co-written and produced by previous Vera Blue collaborators, Andy and Thom Mak. Of the track, Andy Mak said, “Emotionally we wanted to create a sense of tension and unease, like something isn’t quite right in the world. “It felt right to support that with tough beats, dark synths, choirs… You know, all the emotional stuff! And then Celia gave the vocal performance of a lifetime in the chorus and at that point nothing really matters except her voice… Her honesty and authenticity is what pulls you in, every time.”
Vera Blue says the track is the start of “a new chapter, a new phase, and a new story line.” I'm in danger, I thought this was a safe space Time and affection while I give you take “It feels very different. A new phase, new story, new vibe for me," Celia Pavey (aka Vera) said to triple j Drive for the premiere of the track, which explores some heavy subject matter. 'I’m in danger, I thought this was a safe space/Time and affection, while I give you take', she sings about a love that can be taken advantage of. I think it was just drawing from life experiences and the behaviours of people coming in and out of my life. How I was being treated," she explained. "When you love someone in your life or someone loves you, whether its friendship, family, or a lover, sometimes you can treat that person badly and not realise it... It’s a weird way of loving someone.” MUSIC VIDEO Timeslot 2:46+ Published in 23 November 2019

INDONESIA CONFIRMS FOR #30
Jakarta, Indonesia • 23 November 2019 Following a disappointing placing in the first Associate Broadcasters Final back in edition #20, TVRI is looking to impress this time in Hong Kong. The broadcaster is looking to show who they are, and what Indonesia has to offer, and to show that Indonesia can make it Sweden for the final. They searched for the artist who loves Indonesia as much as they do, and is proud of who she is and show this off to the world. Their search led them too...YOU KNOW WE'RE YOUR TYPE, RIGHT?
NIKI TO REPRESENT INDONESIA IN HONG KONG"This is the first time in years Indonesia has the opportunity to show ourselves on the Northvision Stage. It was important for me to bring a song that I can be proud of, that Indonesia can be proud of, and something Europe can love. I did not sign on just to do well in the Associates Final, but I intend to take Indonesia to the final. " - NIKIBorn in Jakarta Indonesia in 1999, NIKI spent her childhood listening to 90s R&B such as Destiny's Child and Aaliyah. She attended school in a very small high school in Jakarta, but was also entranced by music. While attending her sleepy little high school during the day, at night she would post covers on YouTube in which she would eventually earn a respectable 40,000 subscribers. In 2016 she debuted her indie release Polaroid Boy. After a few more independent releases while going to university in Indonesia, she was picked up and signed by label 88rising, a label focusing on bringing Asian and Asian-American artists to the spotlight. Since joining the company, she has participated in a collective company album, Head In the Clouds, and two solo EPs, Zephyr (2018) and Wanna Take This Downtown? (2019). "INDIGO" NIKI will be signing her newest single "Indigo" in Hong Kong, featured on 88rising's second collaborative album Head In The Clouds II. The song is a pop/r&b track that explores themes of temptation and inhibition that features her voice's range to its fullest. 2:04+

It's Ximena for Mexico! Ximena Sariñana has been involved with the arts since a young age, when she began her acting career in the telenovela Maria Isabel at 11 years old. Since then she's been involved with numerous films and established herself as a household name in Mexico. However, she is also a talented musician and her debut album Mediocre to praise all around, being nominated for a Grammy and peaking at #2 on the Mexican Top 100. It's a song from her fourth studio album that will attempt to fly the flag in Malmö, titled Cobarde. 3:53+ An album dedicated to the women in her life, this is reflected throughout the song where she expresses the range of emotions one can feel after ending a relationship, from the sadness and disappointment to eventually forgiveness and reconstruction to bring one to a place where they have the opportunity to really be themselves and free themself from the shackles of the opinions of others.
