Hello people!
So, I want to make a song contest of my own where fellow forumers find nice music from all over the world from a certain year.
This contest will be quite similar to the retro contests, but we'll be travelling in time from past to present.
So, what do you think? Is this a good idea? Please vote on the poll above, thank you!

Would we have a specific country or would we be free to send songs from anywhere in the World? Both systems have pros and cons. If we can borrow from anywhere, there is a risk that we see a huge majority of songs from USA or UK or at least songs in English. If we can't, the contest would be quite difficult for some countries, especially if they have to search very old songs. Maybe we could divide the World in regions (each player would be in the region where he lives for example) like Western/Eastern Europe, South-Est Asia, Rest of Asia, Africa, Oceania, North/Central/South America. A language rule could also be interesting (a player wouldn't be allowed to send a song in English twice in a row for example - unless if we play with countries and English is an official language).
About the year of one edition, it could also be interesting to make a draw every edition (or to let the winner of last edition choose) so we would travel back and forth in time ant not necessarily from the past to the present. Or we would play with the years in chronological order but if we are in 1964 for example, songs released before 1964 would be eligible (or 5 years before the year of the contest, so from 1959 to 1964 in that case).

Your ideas are appreciated anyway!
