Eke I hope everything will be fine with you. Just stay safe and remember we're behind you The cases rose to 90 here. But I still haven't changed my opinion on miss c*********s, I still think it's ridiculous but at the same time I do agree with precautions being taken, especially here, better to be safe than sorry I guess since she is dangerous and charting in a lot of countries LOL I'm absolutely shocked though with how selfish people have been by panic buying, especially when the shelves are just gonna be restocked with the same produce once again. It's ridiculous when our country isn't even on lockdown and people still panic buy especially when stores are still going to be open. What a mess..

There is now close to 800 confirmed cases in the UK but I live in the only area of the UK which still has no confirmed cases. Having said that they have more or less stopped testing people telling us if you have a cough or fever to stay at home for 7 days. Schools are still open for now though and I hope it stays that way as I work in a school and have been told I would not be paid if it closed.

Up to 155 confirmed cases here Looks like the number has been fast rising these last few days now and a lot of shops have been very empty with people buying stuff for reserves and all. Especially lot of toilet paper Like we went shopping a couple days ago and it was just hilarious in a way seeing all the stuff that was sold out so far. It literally felt like the end of the world or zombie apocalypse preparations or something kind of sad as well since this is the first time i actually see and experience this kind of a situation in my life. Hopefully will also be the last time But yeah i do understand all those people and that is necessary to take action all around to contain this, even if i am not panicking myself about the whole thing. Still i am ofc taking it a bit more cautiously while still living as normally as possible living as stress-free as possible I just wish media would give more advice to people on how to actually act with all this and talk about the positive stuff more, such as how many people have already actually recovered from the virus and are healthy overall, instead of just spreading the negative stuff which just leads to more hysteria over all this that is what i am just fed up with. Like building the mass hysteria is not helping anyone, but eh what can you do about it really... fear sells I expect this number will just keep rising even faster, but luckily so far we have not had any deaths because of it which is the main thing and so far 2 have been confirmed as recovered even Luckily i have not heard of any cases yet where i live either, but i expect it will happen sooner or later As a sports fan it also sucks that a lot of seasons and events have now been cancelled completely and stopped because of all this, but at the same time even if it hurts and feels bad, i do understand why it has to be done as said. Atleast Eurovision SO FAR is expected to proceed as planned. Like i would be fine with the acts performing to empty audiences or something like that, just please don't cancel the thing we all look forward to the most in a year But yeah what can you do if that is the decision they will end up taking in the end it would just suck a lot with this ESC field being so freaking strong and i would hate to lose it I just wish this whole mess of a situation would just end as soon as possible and we could all get back to normal with our lives Oh and my best wishes go to our beloved southern neighbor Eke Hopefully if it is this freaking virus as you suspect, you will recover from it as soon as possible. Ofc les hope for the best that it is not and it is just a standard flu or something keeping my fingers crossed for you that it passes asap whatever it is I can also imagine the mess of a feeling you must have right now with all this going on Also ofc the same goes for everyone and every country that is dealing with this I went today morning to my nearest supermarket to buy necessaries and surprisingly there were still lots of things to buy - except toilet paper, soap bottles and tuna cans. But there were quit a lot of people considering it was only 10 AM. So yeah, people should understand how serious the situation is but also calm down a little because this isn't the end of the world and there are and will be foods, goods etc. to buy. I'm kinda surprised how differently here in Finland cities, universities have reacted in closing schools etc. For example, my university has either cancelled all lectures or moved them to online, whilst Helsinki has decided to keep all public schools open till further notice. Quite weird but it really doesn't matter if the government enables Emergency Powers Act as it would mean all schools would be closed etc. And yeah, I'm kinda worried for the sport events although I understand why these decisions had to be made. But I'm quite worried a lot for UEFA EURO as I was meant to go to watch Finland's game against Denmark in Copenhagen. If the Euro's will be postponed to next year, it's gonna be bad for me financially because the only thing I can get a refund is the boat trip from Turku to Stockholm (and vice-versa) I doubt I could have money again for hotels, travel tickets etc. for next year (+ I need to get a summer job for next year) but as our president said: "Economy is economy. Human lives are way more important. Let's worry about them first".

I work in a school and have been told I would not be paid if it closed. Isn't that against the law? I mean, it's not your choice to not work, if the school gets closed by decision from government as a measure of precaution. I mean, the salary could be decreased, but not fully. If the school can't pay you, then the government should, because it's their decision... in Latvia we've so far avoided this kind of situation, because teachers still have to work and students have to study, only this time from home through online programs. In a week or two we'll see, if this way it has any good results. If not, then students and teachers will be given longer spring break, but will have to come to school in summer for few weeks...

I am a Teaching Assistant so if the schools do close would not be needed and we are all on temporary contracts for term time only. So if the Schools close then it is not term time and would not be paid. No one really knows for sure but that is what everyone is saying at the moment. My area had its first confirmed case today so the chances of school closing is increasing as well I understand why they would have to but I love my job so would really miss going into School if it does close.

I hope people would indeed calm down a bit with all this, but i feel as long as this is all going on it is not gonna happen Also needless to say it is already well over 200 cases confirmed in . Keeping up the trend of going up fast lately when it was still around 150 yesterday And indeed the first case in the province that i live in was confirmed today just as i said yesterday that so far no cases have been reported here i am just not sure whether it was in my city or somewhere else but in any case it was just a matter of time tbh I can only imagine how people here are gonna react now if the hysteria was like that before any confirmed cases happening around here

Ugh now I have to postpone my lab work because I feel very uncomfortable going to the place when there will be a lot of people since I'm high risk...... And I don't want to get people sick if I do get it plus for safety reasons if I get it done, then my boyfriend's mum won't let me come over, which will be devastating to me due to the chaotic behavioural mess that takes place in my fucking house. As said in my last post here, my groups are cancelled so the only escape from the disrespectfulness of two housemates of mine is the rec center across the street when my boyfriend can't pick me up. So yeah, this is getting scary here and I don't know how to handle this situation To Eke, I hope you feel better soon. I can't even imagine how you feel, being very sick like that Whether it's the virus or not, I'm here to support you and I'm sure the others are too

I thought you were a permanent contract teacher, that's why I asked... temporary contracts obviously don't have that security benefit (unless the employer decides otherwise)... well, I guess it's inevitable now, that it will close, so all you can hope for is that it's not for long. Let's hope all these actions do help getting back to normal ASAP
