Out of curiosity- what sterotypes have you heard made about your country? Do you feel any of them are true? Be nice and just put ones about your own country or nationality

There's fast food everywhere and people LOVE it.
Okay...that's true.
“Americans are war mongers”
“Americans don’t care about their poor people”
Not true. We build entire buildings dedicated to the homeless for shelter, food, and education. I personally care about all poor people...except the ones that use government aid money to buy drugs and alcohol. They don't deserve it.
"Americans are stupid."
I can vouch that between 30%-60% are...most of them, have seats in Congress :/
"Americans are fat."
Well. We DO have the highest obesity rate, but a decent number of us are of healthy weight.
Greedy.
Varies from person-to-person.

Americans: Rednecks (where I live? HECK. YES. But, I take drastic measures to not be one.) What's interesting is that nobody (except Native American Indians) are truly American. We're all Swedish, Macedonian, Colombian, Peruvian, Azeri, Turkish, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Danish, Armenian, Dutch, Norwegian, Albanian, Russian, Ukrainian, Italian, (most importantly, English, Scottish, Irish or Welsh)...and so many others.I, myself am German, Dutch, Irish, Swedish, Norwegian, and my great-grandmother is full-blooded Seminole Indian. My best friend is German and Italian, and another friend is Greek and Slovakian. One friend I've had since Kindergarten is Polish, German and Romanian. There are two Koreans at my school, a Vietnamese boy, lots of Mexicans, and I think one Cuban or Dominican.Just thought I'd point out the diversity

One of the stereotypes that we hear a lot of in the UK is a one involving a certain group of young teenagers who have either had sex or have had a child and are expected to act so ill-mannered, swear, drink alcohol, smoke, take drugs and generally be what the coined phrase "asbo-tastic" from a TV show is used to mean (from a character in this show who was created 'modelled' by these types of young people here in the UK), you call them 'chavs' if you're a Southener, a 'charva' if you live in my city/around my area - Newcastle (in the North East) or NEDs in Scotland = Non-Educated Delinquents

True Story

Well, a sterotype about Sweden (and northern europe in general) is that we are much less social than people that live in the rest of europe, and it is kinda true

Well, a sterotype about Sweden (and northern europe in general) is that we are much less social than people that live in the rest of europe, and it is kinda true That's actually the same stereotype attributed to all introverts. Let's see. *puts on thinking cap* *light bulb* I've got it! Americans are pacifists. Thanks to Obama, everyone has suddenly become completely infatuated with the United States. It's now seen as a peaceful country that wants to avert war, supports necessary causes that will eventually bring peace, and is drawing out from all countries that were wrongfully invaded by the U.S. This is completely and totally wrong. America is an extremely militaristic nation; it actively encourages everyone to sign up for the draft even in peacetime "just in case", even for people as young as eighteen. America has military bases all over the world and seems to invade random countries every year and pull out ten years later. It's constantly invading every country in the world, and even secures the rest of the world financially and materialistically. So yeah. Some of the positive comments about America are quite off base, as well as the negative ones.
