Alchten confirms! Fantasia Contest #23

Despite an unsuccessful participation in edition #22 with  Tamaryn and her song Hands All Over Me, YKSI has stated that they had no intention to withdraw any time soon. This will mark Alchten's 3rd consecutive participation since #21.
The selection method
After holding their first national selection in #22, YKSI has decided not to bring Häälikal back for edition #23. It has been confirmed however that this selection may be brought back with a slightly different format in the future. This means the entry will be selected internally. Just like in #21, artists can apply for a chance to represent Alchten on 1yksi-music.al.

 ZYLOFONIJA CONFIRMS!
While the whole Fantasia world is waiting for the final results in  Ximbala, we wish the best of luck to the Zylo entrant Merlot and their song "The Fall"! This morning, national broadcaster ZINU finally announced their participation in the 23rd edition of the Fantasia Contest with the return of the popular selection process ZYLOMELODIJA.
The broadcaster received more than 600 submissions for this edition, but only 12 acts will compete at the Isiko Arena for a ticket to the Fantasia semi-finals. You can meet them below!

  SHKEERA HAS CHOSEN
Shkeera are back. And this time, it's with a bang.
After last edition's failure to qualify in a disappointing eighth place despite being hyped by many as a favourite, STR's board looked across the pond and across the Fantasia world to get in touch with an artist who left Shkeera many years ago to start her career as a music artist in Dyria, where her family lived. She accepted the opportunity to represent Shkeera, and after some weeks of Zoom calls with her team and songwriters they finally found that spark they were looking for, and created a very strong song from that.
Having previously participated in a national selection to represent Dyria at the contest, she had already made a name for herself as an artist in these spheres before STR got in touch with her. The song she will sing this edition will be in Dyrian, continuing Shkeera's long tradition of building bridges with their fellow Fantasia nations and promoting the values that Fantasia espouses as a contest.

Neufchâteau • 10/10/2020After a satisfying 8th place with Yelle and "Karaté" in Ximbala, ADN immediately announced the name of the Neocastrian flagbearer in  Evergreen.
DAGNY
Native of Hubern in the deep north of the country, Dagny Norvoll Sandvik's luminous electropop has made noise beyond the Archduchy's borders. First discovered in 2016 with "Backbeat", she has since then made herself a name in the little world of pop music, with her biggest feat being Nineliese superstar Katy Perry sampling the beat off the young woman's "Love You Like That" for her hit "Never Really Over".
After the publication of her debut album at the beginning of the month, the national Neocastrian broadcaster had shortlisted her for eventual participation to the Fantasia Contest, given that she has already expressed her interest several months back. The choice is explained by a need to "bring pop and feel-good vibes back" to Fantasia, a genre and energy that has sadly faded overtime. Neocastrian HoD has stated that "we want to try everything.The entry Dagny will be performing in Evergreen will be "Somebody", an energetic retro number tailored for airplay and keep-it-on-repeat listening. The singer has stated that no matter the result, she will be "very proud" to represent her homeland in the biggest contest in the Fantasia world. We at ADN wish her good luck! 23

Father John Misty
Father John Misty is a stage name of Josh Tillman, who is a fabled singer-songwriter record producer and musician from the capital of our country, Ceuva. He started his career way back in 2003 and has been a member of many folk groups, the most known being Fleet Foxes. The song he will perform is the titular and opening track from Josh Tillman’s 2nd full-length album as Father John Misty, released in 2015. The song introduces listeners to the relationship between him and his now-wife, Emma. The song is part autobiography and part satire. Specifically, it exaggerates and perverts the compulsion of couples in love to want to “share their love” or “invite others in” without realizing how saccharine it is, and how unfunny their inside jokes are, from the outside. Tillman invites us in only to reveal (sometimes graphically) the dystopian and misanthropic worldview that unite him and his “honeybear.”
