 GET READY TO B AMAZEDAfter RTB confirmed for the 6th edition of Own Africavision Song Contest, in  Mauritius, B kicked off days later, the first ever national selection for legendary Burkina Faso. RTB thanks the 13 nations who participated in the voting for the selection! 4 artists were in contention to represent B, and finally we have a result.

EMY
The first ever winner of B, EMY, will travel to  Mauritius to sing for Burkina Faso at Own Africavision Song Contest #6 !Hanging on Emy Kabore’s every word is the easiest thing in the world. Though barely twenty, the  Paris native with roots in  Burkina Faso is already considered one of the great musical talents in the whole universe. Her uniquely identifiable soul voice expresses her most intimate thoughts and feelings. She moves and dazzles the listener, leaving no one untouched.
What’s more, Emy is self-taught. It all started in the summer of 2015 when she bought her very first guitar and started making music, purely on intuition. Her emotional, poignant songs earned her third place in the 2018 edition of Humo’s Rock Rally (‘At just eighteen, Emy’s voice conveys more feeling, life and urgency than the last eight Hooverphonic singers put together’, omfg TEA).
This early success cemented Emy’s resolve to continue her solo career in earnest with a full backing band. Four wonderful musicians accompany her as she explores the neo soul genre, adding a groovy and funky feel to her repertoire and complementing her naturally soulful voice.

  Sierra Leone has chosen In a press conference in Freetown, the Head of Delegation announced that Sierra Leone has decided upon their song for the Sixth Edition of Own Africavision Song Contest.
After a rigorous process, in which both native and acts of our diaspora where considered, Sierra Leone is confident in their choice of sending Tyla and Jjoe Sayma to represent us in Mauritius. The duo will perform their song 'But 1961'.
Timeslot: 2:55 April 2021 marks 50 years since was granted independence from  the British Empire. Despite the half century, this song powerfully showcases the lingering pain from colonialism yet constant hope for a better future, 'you've been watered down and teared up yet all you do is smile'. Freetown was once labelled the 'Athens of West Africa' due to its university that was unique within West Africa yet today much of its population remain uneducated. During this important month for Sierra Leone we hope that this song can help connect with the African and global audiences. Everyone back homes is backing the duo for a placement to be proud of. |

Due to spending our budget on trying to convince famous singer John Legend to represent us in the Own Africavision Song Contest 6,  Guinea-Bissau has sadly decided to take a break from this edition. OMG SISTER YOU WILL BE MISSED |
