Libya confirms participationLa Libia parteciperà alle Seychelles!Tripoli • 7 August 2021The Libya Radio and Television (LRT) has confirmed Libya's presence at the Own Africavision Song Contest 8 in Seychelles. Despite Aya getting a rather average eighteenth place in Antananarivo, this doesn't stop the broadcaster in continue participating with the objective of keeping the successful streak of results achieved throughout the seven editions.
“Although the final outcome last edition wasn't what we originally expected, it's still an opportunity for the delegation to move on and see what else could be improved. Our main goal for the next edition is to find another song that embodies the values of the contest and is capable of taking us to the top of the scoreboard, but we shall see when we later listen to the suggestions.” - Libyan Own Africavision Head of Delegation
Following last edition's final broadcast, LRT has launched the submissions for the eighth Libyan entry which is open for all local and diasporic artists. Submissions will close today and as in previous editions, the selection will be done internally by a professional jury composed of broadcaster and government officials, with the revelation to occur around the end of January. im just saying this before someone makes a snarky comment: yes, this is automatically qualified to the nvsc 36 final, a direct violation of one of the eligibility rules. however, the final hasn’t been made yet, so the song isn’t technically an official finalist YET. this is a bit of a grey area, and after discussing it with the council, never is an official entry for senegal

Those were just some of the 'kind words' uttered by citizens after Mauritius experienced the failure to qualify to the OAfSC final for the first time ever back in Madagascar. Rest assured, broadcaster MBC and the Mauritian delegation does not support this behavior.
With that said...
MAURITIUS CONFIRMS!
Mauritius is excited to participate in the 8th Own Africavision Song Contest. For the third upcoming consecutive edition, the contest is hosted in the East African island region, a streak graciously started by Mauritius, followed up by Madagascar, and soon Seychelles (Comoros and Reunion, the pressure's on you ). It must be a testament to the popularity and success of the musical talent produced from these places.
"I wonder when OAfSC will ever get back to the mainland," asked the Head of Delegation.
The entry will once again be selected internally.

Mauritania withdraws, unless someone else will take it. Good luck to all here! (You can still see me in more forum contests!)

São Tomé and Príncipe confirms! The entry will be revealed later. Rumor has it that the delegation is between two artists a woman and a man from São Tomé and Príncipe with great success in their careers. It also sounds loud that the country will send for the first time a song with English lyrics.
