The first North Vision Christmas Song Contest!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Every broadcaster will be able to submit a Christmas themed song to this annual North Vision spin-off. The same rules as for the actual North Vision Song Contest apply (although in some points not as strict). Covers will not be allowed; original songs will have to be submitted.
The submitted songs have to have been released in the year 2000 or after.
Every country will submit one set of 12, 10 and 8 to 1 points to find the winner of the North Vision Christmas Song Contest!
Depending on the number of participants (more than 28), Semi-finals might be introduced aswell.
Only full members of the North Broadcasting Union will be allowed to compete! WHO, WHERE AND WHEN? The contest will be hosted by North Vision legends Geraldine McQueen and Claudia Schanza in the Stockholm Concert Hall, Stockholm, Sweden.
The deadline to confirm and submit a song Friday, 17 December 2021 at 22:00CET.
A recap will then be made. Voting will close on 24 December 2021 at 23:59CET and the results will be presented on boxing day, the 26th of December 2021.Please submit your songs in a PM to Daniel before posting them in this thread!NBU © 2021

ORF and the Austrian delegation are happy to present their entrant for the Christmas edition of the North Vision Song Contest. Pauls Jets are a Viennese trio that produces songs that are popular among the German-speaking indie and alternative youth. Their first singles ("Üben Üben Üben", "Diese Villa ist verlassen" and "22703") are all hymns of a not so distant utopia and they have triggered an unanimous hype among the German music press like Musikexpress, Radio FM4, TAZ, laut.de and so forth. "The Austrian band of the moment" (Austrian newspaper "Der Standard") is more eclectic, frayed, youthful and anarchistic than its predecessors. The trio around 20-year-old singer Paul Buschnegg hovers between hushed euphoria and vague melancholy. Their debut album – released in March 2019 via Lotterlabel and aptly titled "Alle Songs Bisher" (All songs so far) finally proved they are ready for the big stage. Ever since the release of their second studio album "Highlights zum Einschlafen" and subsequent successes with the songs "Blizzard" and later on "So richtig in Love", which both went viral in the German-speaking countries, proves that they are a noteworthy force in the local music scene.

Being totally overwhelmed by the ongoing Christmas spirit, the Lithuanian national broadcaster decided to take part in the first ever edition of the North Vision Christmas Song Contest. The chance of being the first ever Lithuanian act was given for a two-time NVSC participant and the host of the recent Lietuvos Garsai edition: Monique! She will perform her brand new single "Ne Kalėdos be tavęs" ("Not Christmas without you").

SWEDEN TO TAKE PART AT THE FIRST NORH VISION CHRISTMAS SONG CONTEST!
15 December 2021. The Swedish Head of Delegation responsible for the North Vision Song Contest of SVT, Jan Björkman, has now officially confirmed, that the nation will join the very first North Vision Christmas Song Contest, hosted by the Faroese delegation in Sweden.
NOVA MILLER TO REPRESENT SWEDEN!
Nova Miller was selected to represent Sweden at the first edition of the North Vision Christmas Song Contest. She will be performing her Christmas single "Only When it Snows". Miller previously represented Sweden at the Junior North Vision Song Contest 4 and 9 and won the latter. She also took part in Fantasifestivalen 25, 33 and 35.

The Head of Delegation, Jan Björkman, stated the following:
"We absolutely enjoy the idea of having a Christmas-themed spin-off of the contest considering the success of the contest itself, but also the rather poor results of Christmas songs within the actual contest. This way we will not face the fear of having Christmas songs being put up to compete against nonfestive songs. In these times, it is a wonderful idea to bring all nations together at Christmas through this contest, it is like everyone gathering around at the table for Christmas. We'd like to lay the focus on the coming together, the inclusiveness, the joy, peace, freedom and love, rather than the competition aspect of the contest. Nonetheless we are very proud to be represented by our talented Nova Miller in the very first edition and we are looking forward for this to become an annual tradition within the North Vision community.
