Despite failing to qualify for the second time ever, Mauritius and broadcaster MBC confirms their participation for the milestone 10th edition of the Own Africavision Song Contest. Please don’t f*ck up, Eritrea Per favore non fare c*zzate, Eritrea. Posted in You are not in the UK You are in Barbados (3 Jan 21)
After a respectable placement for our first native act ever achieved by Elham Mohammed in Mali Mali, the head of Eritrean delegation PoomA Zadik Zadik is going to return to their same gig aka diaspora. After being bullied by the owner of OAfSC and the HoD of DR Congo, also known as, the less slaying Congo, we had decided to send something especially for them. The next Eritrean representative is going to be . . .
Adam Aminé Daniel, known mononymously as Aminé is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He first gained notability for his commercial debut single, "Caroline", which peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Aminé released his debut studio album Good for You, on July 28, 2017, and his second studio album, OnePointFive, on August 15, 2018.
Aminé is the son of Ethiopian and Eritrean immigrants who immigrated to the United States in the early 1990s. His mother worked at a post office and his father was a teacher and translator part-time. Aminé was born and raised in the Northeast Portland neighborhood of Woodlawn. Aminé graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School, and attended Portland State University to study marketing before dropping out to focus on his music career full time. Aminé also worked as an intern at the hip-hop publication Complex.
A first-generation American and son of immigrants, Aminé wears his identity with pride. “I think about it a lot,” he says. “I’m personally so proud to be a first-generation Eritrean-Ethiopian. Because, growing up, for me, I didn’t really see people who came from that kind of background. That wasn’t something normal to see on screen. Now, I want to make sure that kids around the world from that diaspora relate to me.” Hence why he decided to accept the invitation from the Eritrean delegation to present one of his parents’ ancestral land. He will represent Eritrea in Lesotho and becomes our tenth representative together with an English electric music brothers duo Disclosure who once brought an absolute whopper Douha (Mali Mali) to the OAfSC stage and an English-Barbadian rapper Slowthai . They will put the energy to the stage in Lesotho with their song …

Libya confirms participationLa Libia parteciperà in Lesotho!Tripoli • 3 January 2022The Libya Radio and Television is able to announce that Libya will be flying south for the tenth edition of the Own Africavision Song Contest in Lesotho. Having luckily kept their nine-edition qualification streak and achieving a fourteenth place in the final, LRT is eager to build on their current fortunes with the hopes of finally gaining a podium placement.
Despite initial plans of a one-artist national selection, the broadcaster will once again opt for an internal selection to select their next act. Submissions have once again opened for all local and diasporic musical acts, and it was reported that an unnamed returning act had showed interest of sending in a song over the past days, which is a collaboration with several other international acts. More details will be given in due course. Libya Radio and Television (LRT) Official Libyan member broadcaster for the Own Africavision Song Contest
