GO GO GADGET EXTENDOSONG
i have such a short attention span i lose my attention really quick, and it is super difficult for me to actually listen to a song for such a long super amount of time such as 6 minutes or more. so, MY challenge, my vision, my GOAL, is to present you all, esteemed panel of judges, with a song that can actually hold my attention for that amount of time and keep me immersed from beginning to end.
i went thru my playlists and the only ones that i was getting 6 minutes plus is the ones that u expect, the beach house hits, sufjan stevens slappers etc etc.... but, THAT is to be expected....
i was truly giving up hope.... am i going to flop again? and be sent home because i put ABBA again as my third sing off song? naur naur naur..... i need to pop my pussy off severly.....
as i was succumbing to deep dark thoughts..... this experience popped out of nowhere........ and to say the least.... i was in shock.... i was in tears almost.......
this piece..... is 9 minutes 44 secconds.
like i was shocked..... what is this 9 minute 44 second song doing in MY liked songs?? where did she come from? like i genuinely dont remember ever listening to her??
is this a song from god? is ALLAH sending me a message?
if a being of greater power is trying to contact me, i MUST listen.... and listen i did. and i listened so many times. over and over again... i had transcended?? like where did this ACTUALLY come from. there was a tilt in the axis of the globe, i felt as if the earth was plummeting into the sun. i gave so many audible gasps during the first listening of this piece. the LAYERS of this piece.... omg
so this piece is called Paplu (Love That Moves the Sun) by Vessel, aka Sebastian Gainsborough. such mystery surrounding this? actually think this is not of god and not made by man.
but im so shook, i'm not sure if yall can handle the 9 minute 44 second version so there is a 6 minute 23 second music video........... but if you think you can handle it.... LISTEN to the 9 minutes.
thank u
VESSEL - PAPLU (LOVE THAT MOVES THE SUN)
9 minute 44 second version

Bitta Pill: Go Go Gadget Extendosong After my bottom 2 placement last episode, I knew I had to bounce back strong. And I think I have.
Daughters - Shallows This gorgeous indie-folk epic unfolds over nearly 7 minutes, starting with a soft guitar line and gradually building into a cathartic finish that simply fades away like smoke. An airy, sumptuous song that I adore. I honestly don't mind if I go home with this song, because it is something I will stand by until I die.
'If you leave / When I go / Find me / In the shallows'

GIGI WELPLADE xx
Hi my yummygummydoodahs! It's me! Gigi! But y'all already know that x. So today I am presenting you a musical and visual masterpiece by one of my favourite bands of all time. "Neptune" by the incredible rock band Foals, clocks in at 10:18, their longest release and closing track to one of my favourite albums Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 2. "Neptune" is a track that forewarns of an apocalypse. The cinematic video combines the striking natural beauty with images that conjure the of a world teetering on the precipice of an apocalypse.
The atmosphere of the song captures a sense of resignation to the inevitable. The poignancy of the imagery really balances the strength of the musicality. Speaking on the track lead vocalist Philippakis said "It's a kind of out-of-body experience where you're leaving behind all the mess; there's a sense of inescapable fate to it, where you're wanting to pass on into a place that's away from all this." (DIY) The song expresses a sense of coming to terms with mortality. Nothing is permanent. The track feels even that more pertinent given the times we've all been living through.
"Neptune" is a work of art, and I hope you enjoy the experience of it as much as I do. As the closing track for a two-part album, it is a wonderful crescendo ending this chapter of Foals' career.
Lyrics:
See me when I float like a dove Skies above lined with trees I'm on my knees, I'm singing, please Come and take me away

Kenya's Song Race S1: E8- Go Go Gadget Extendosong (Send a song that is longer than 6 minutes)
Its time for a comeback!
The song that I have chosen for this challenge is Aux Étoiles by the Band Colours in the Street.
Colours in the Street - Aux Étoiles Duration - 6mins 45seconds
(First off apologies for the lateness compared to other queens, personal life got really busy and mad for a we bit but i'm back and ready!)
Colours in the Street is a Pop-Rock group from France. The group was formed late 2009 by Alexandre Poussard and Alexis Rimbault, both childhood friends and from the town of Niort, in Deux-Sèvres. The band this day consists of Alexandre Poussard (Alex Colours) – vocals , piano , guitar. Noé Russeil - bass & Lucien Saurin - guitar.
Their song Aux Étoiles is a very beautiful melancholic song in French. A very uplifiting and powerful song with meaningful lyrics. The song is about Love and unity of everyone and anyone and to reach for the stars to try and find that person who loves and cares for you no matter who they are.
"Until, until dawn For an eternal night believing in each other It's when you make the stars turn their heads That in the distance, I only hear you"
One of my favourite lyrical parts, describes of finding that person who's so special that they can make the stars turn their heads.
The videoclip, shot at the Futuroscope park in Poitiers, reveals breathtaking images, highlighting an aesthetic and poetic universe... A strong emotion, carried by the words and staged by the dance, revealing the passionate feelings that can offer life to everyone such as love, friendship & attachment.
To the Challenge. It really utilises the time really well. Especially for a song over 6 minutes with a well produced video. But not only that, the song itself has a lovely build and keeps you engaged. It then hits that final part like a tribal cry of power and love and you get so entranced from the start to finish where your eclipsed of sound which is mesmerizing. It shows that with a song over 6 minutes like Aux Étoiles that in full, that a song can be really magical and emotional. Lyrics;
In front of the immense, I close my eyes
A little patience, I dream, I make a wish
You make the stars turn their heads
My ideas get tangled up, struggle, drift away
Abandoned, so far away, under your spell
He We would need hours, words
And weapons
But you, you make the stars turn their heads
In our wake, a message of love
If I'm counting the hours
If I'm no longer afraid
It's because it's not too late
Lost in your eyes
If I'm counting the days
If I'm waiting for my turn
It's because I like to believe it
Lost in your gaze
Until, until dawn
For an eternal night believing in each other
It's when you make the stars turn their heads
That in the distance, I only hear you
If I count the hours
If I'm no longer afraid
It's because it's not too late
Lost in your gaze
If I count the days If I'm waiting for my turn
It's because I like to believe it
Lost in your gaze
A comet, a comet beyond the comets, a comet
A comet, a comet beyond the comets, a comet
I know you believe it
You know I can't promise you
We turn around, we turn around as we can
On and on, and on and on
We turn around, we turn around in the end
On and on, and on and on
Try again, coming to me
You can too, you can too
You have to
Beyond the comets, as old as the world
And you turn the heads of the stars to the
stars
