PQR Hosting Submissions

In this thread you can apply if you're interested in hosting the Pre-Qualification Round 24, which is being held for the upcoming North Vision Song Contest 38.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Your application must include:
• A venue (with capacity up to 5,000)
• A logo
• Presenter(s)
This does not limit you; of course you can include other stuff such as a recap/results video.

You can apply if...
• your country is an active NBU member
• your country is not competing in the PQR
• you are able to create a recap video
• you are able to collect the votes
• you are able to present the results

You cannot apply if...
• you are a co-HoD of a country
• your country is not competing in the current edition

Deadline to submit your application is Thursday, 24th February 23:59
Message any NBU-member if you need the PQR24 logo made for your country.

Below you can find the details about what you can expect if you're coming to

Romania for the 24th pre-qualification round.

THE THEME ART

We invite you to "ENLIGHTEN YOUR WAY". The main symbol of our proposed theme is the triangle, which has several meanings. We want to show you the meaning of enlightenment and the path that everyone is having for reaching new highs.

HOST CITY

Iași, known as the Cultural Capital of Romania is the fourth largest city in Romania (but second most populous urban area in the country). It is a symbol of Romanian history. Home to the oldest Romanian university and to the first engineering school, Iași is one of the most important education and research centres of the country, accommodating over 60,000 students in five public universities. The social and cultural life revolves around the Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre (the oldest in Romania), the Moldova State Philharmonic, the Opera House, the Iași Athenaeum, the Botanical Garden (the oldest and largest in Romania), the Central University Library (the oldest in Romania), the cultural centres and festivals, an array of museums, memorial houses, religious and historical monuments. The city is also known as the site of the largest Romanian pilgrimage which takes place every year, in October.

VENUE

The Iași National Theatre (or Vasile Alecsandri National Theater), is the oldest national theatre and one of the most prestigious theatrical institutions in Romania. In 1956, it was given the name of the renowned Romanian playwright and poet Vasile Alecsandri. The building also hosts the Iași Romanian National Opera. Its total capacity reaches 1000 seats.

PRESENTER

Larisa Roxana Giurgiu (born 5 January 2000), known professionally as Roxen, is a Romanian singer signed to Global Records. Roxen rose to prominence upon being featured on Romanian producer Sickotoy's "You Don't Love Me", which reached number three in Romania and received radio airplay in several other countries. It has also represent

Romania in the 30th edition of North Vision Song Contest where it failed to qualify to the Final, achieving the 12th place in the semi-final.

The design, and the logo has been inspired by sea elements, as the main part of the logo meant to represent seashells, while the smaller section are inspired by amber and pearls, and to remember this is a song contest afterall, the blue bars above the slogan and next to the logo are meant to represent a music notation, with bubbles on it.

Ventspils, the 6th most populated city of

Latvia, is a city located at the coast of the Baltic Sea and at the mouth of the Venta river, around 160km from Riga. The host arena, the Ventspils Olympic Center (Basketball Hall) will be available to accomodate 3000 people and fans for the show.

For the hosting of the PQR, an icon has been picked, former PQR participant in the 29th edition: Patrisha, now iconic for the way the former Latvian head of the delegation defended her result in the PQR that edition, with the now iconic "Do you remember the time when Patrisha failed in PQR?".

It has since became an iconic quote within the fans of the contest, and even Patrisha herself took advantage of this, on her speech, while being the

Latvian spokesperson in the 36th edition.
