CONFIRMATIONS REMINDER 1Notice About the Edition Just as a reminder, this is an Altemelanindition. In these editions, only artists from the continent of Africa who are not white will be accepted. For example, Ayra Starr is eligible for both Nigeria and Benin, but Akintoye would not be eligible. Likewise Moonchild Sanelly would be eligible, but Monark wouldn't be eligible. If an entry violates these rules, I reserve the right to reject them. Smaller nations (like Djibouti, Lesotho, etc.) will have a slightly looser definition of the rules than larger nations (like Ghana, Nigeria, etc.). If you have questions about which pod a nation falls into, please dm me (Discord is preferred). Artists that would be rejected this edition can be sent to the next edition.

SEVENTEEN... EIGHTEEN... NINETEENTH OF MAY FOR CAMEROON'S ENTRY!!
Yaoundé, 19 May 2022 - The Cameroonian broadcaster is happy to announce that Mimie will represent the country with her song "J'avance" in the Own Africavision Song Contest 11.
Mélanie Ngoga, mostly known as Mimie, is a Cameroonian singer who is signed under the Empire Company label since 2017.
She began her professional career with her debut single "Warriors" in 2014, but it was not until 2016 that she was noticed by the general public with the release of the title "Dance Fi You". She was later spotted by Empire Company, which decided to have her signed under the label.
Mimie now has about ten singles and numerous collaborations with Cameroonian and international artists such as Shan'L, Dj Zoumanto, Ko-C and Locko.
"J'avance" ("I move forward") talks about moving forward no matter what happens, no matter what people say about you. Because when you sing, they'll be the ones dancing. Seventeen, eighteen, nineteen pogolo!
We wish her the best of luck in Senegal!
"J'avance" Mimie
