България избра!
BULGARIA'S SONG REVEALED.
SOFIA, 3/7/2022 -- BNT selected their act internally for this 39th edition of NVSC.
In a statement from BNT: "The NVSC platform shares and promotes music from Bulgarian artists to Europe, and we see many acts from Europe and beyond gain popularity and success across the continent. We are thrilled that our team continues to find and give talent the proper exposure they deserve. We believe this next act, who has participated in previous national selections, has an excellent song co-written by a recent North Vision success. We will bring that 'must-see television' moment to the contest in the NBU."
Without further ado, say hello to...
DARA EKHIMOVA!Dara Ekimova is a 20-year-old native of Sofia, coming from a musical family - her father was the frontman of the group Slang. As a young adult she studied solfege, piano, and folk dances, and showcased her vocal range. This led to a Bulgarian JESC semifinals entry, but she did not proceed to the Final. After finishing school she began her professional music career in 2019. In 2020, she placed 6th in the NVSC 34 national selection on a collaboration with Iskrata. Now, she earns her ticket to NVSC - uncontested!
The song is titled "Byaram" (Бягам), which was written and arranged by Ekimova with aid from Denis Popstoev and NVSC 37 representative Preyah Osassey.
BNT and the rest of Bulgaria wishes her luck on her journey!

ROMANIAN ENTRY DECIDED After almost one month since the Romanian selection started, a scandal occurred at the TVR headquarters, and one of the artists decided to withdraw without specifying the real reason. The head of delegation tried to find an alternative, and the best decision that could be reached was to find a replacement entry. This is what he commented to the press:
HOLY MOLLY TO REPRESENT ROMANIA IN ANDORRA! Maria Alexandra Florea (born 11 January 1996), known professionally as Holy Molly, is a Romanian singer, songwriter and actress. She started her career in 2010 as Miss Mary, and in 2019 she reinvented herself and became Holy Molly. She is currently signed to Global Records, and over the years of her career, she released songs mainly in English and French. However, for the 39th edition of North Vision Song Contest, she prepared a song in Romanian language, which is also her first song in native language.
She will be joined by the rapper Vlad Irimia (stage name Tata Vlad). He is one of the founders of one of the most influential Romanian hip hop trio B.U.G. Mafia, also having produced albums and overseeing the careers of many acclaimed Romanian hip hop artists, such as La Familia, XXL & 10 Grei, Mahsat and JerryCo.
The song that they will perform is called "Plouă" (tr. It's raining) and you can listen to it below.

IT'S YSA FERRER AGAIN The new Algerian era begins similarly to the former one, with Yasmina Abdi, more commonly known as Ysa Ferrer waving the North African's nation flag in the competition for the first time under the current delegation in Andorra, returning after representing the country exactly 10 editions ago for the first time under the previous delegation in Dublin.Unfortunately, her placement was not up to the expectations of Algerian viewers, finishing 3 places short of the cutoff for the grand final. However, Ysa has gained plenty of fans across the NVSC community and has expressed her interest in representing her birth country another time.Born in Oran, Algeria to an Algerian father of Egyptian descent and a French mother, she moved to Chambéry, in her mother's country at a very young age with her family, where she became interested in singing and the arts, and moved to Paris directly after graduating high school to seek her fortune, eventually enjoying international success.Her song "To The World", with a bilingual nature, featuring both French and English lyrics, has been selected among hundreds of potential acts for the representation of Algeria in the upcoming edition.Replacement video below, please use from 0:00 onwards;
Stream the whole song; Spotify | YouTube GOOD LUCK YSA! MAKE US PROUD! Special thanks to everyone who submitted their suggestions in the form, and especially to the ones who left kind words alongside their suggestions, I have been looking into them and they have given me motivation to start preparing potential national selections for future editions.
Additionally, special thanks to basil, for offering to create a replacement video for the song and sharing the link of the video which was used for the replacement one.
Lastly, I know I haven't been active so far this edition, I had stuff I was dealing with and my computer was not functioning, however, I promise I will try to change this in the short future.
Thanks!
