 Denmark withdraws from North Vision Song Contest 15 January 2023 • Copenhagen, Denmark DR has just announced their decision to withdraw from the upcoming 40th edition of the North Vision Song Contest. According to the Head of Delegation, the broadcaster was pushing for the withdrawal of the country for a while now even if the initial plan set by the Head of Delegation was to stay at least until the 40th edition. This will mark the first time the country will be absent from the competition ever since their debut in the first edition of the contest. The future of the country in the contest is unclear but a return next edition is unlikely as of now.
I think it is not a shock for most people but it is time for me to leave this competition, sadly. As many of you noticed I have not been as active as before in the Forum and the Discord server. I will not lie, my interest in the contest has not been the same as before. And that is why I have decided to withdraw permanently, which is only fair for people who want to get in the contest.
It has been a pleasure competing in NVSC for almost 10 years and being a part of the NBU for almost as long. Hoping that Denmark will be left in good hands now that I'm leaving (well, it can't get worse than it did in the past editions I guess).

 Czechia confirms its presence in the jubilee #40 edition of the North Vision Song Contest! Despite not managing to qualify for the Final of the 39th edition, the interest for the contest among local artists is still high, thus the Czech team believes we should offer the opportunity for our musicians to showcase their talent on the international scene and make the country proud!
Head of Delegation Julius Horváth refused to share any additional details regarding the song selection method, however it is expected that the formerly secured partnerships with major Czech companies as well as a prominent record label will continue in hopes of a return to the Final.
Further details will be announced shortly, so stay tuned for more updates! In the meanwhile, the Czech team is open to any suggestions regarding the artist or the song to represent the country, so if you have any recommendations, please reach out to Levi21 or uhsting in PM.
Finally, the Czech team would like to wish all competing nations the best of luck and we hope to hear a lot of briliant songs in this edition as well! |
