The Door of the Sanctuary

This edition features the door of the sanctuary of the spirits. It welcomes everyone who may be struggling in real life. Every door leads to a new room or environment. A step through the door presents new beginnings. No matter what happened previously, help is always available just like the door is always open, and the North Vision Song Contest always stands for the value of kindness, happiness and acceptance, through celebrating music in general.



Located at the river Mur, the city of Graz is the second-largest in Austria with a population of approximately 300,000. It has been at the centre of cultural, scientific, historical and architectural changes over the centuries. From its location in former slavic-dominated territory influencing the name of the city ("gradec" = "small castle"), the historical importance of the former castle in the Napoleonic wars in which the impenetrable fortress was demolished, to the many peoples the city has given birth, hearth and sanctuary to - it is a pinnacle of Austria's core. Multi-ethnic in nature, and offering a multitiude of higher education options, it is a city known to harbour many students from all the country and abroad.

Stadthalle Graz, located in the most central district Jakomini, is the biggest venue of Graz. Most live events of big scale are hosted here, and it is the biggest roofed venue of Styria. Built between 2000 and 2002, the venue is right next to Messe Graz, the biggest marketplace of the city, and Congress Graz, a meeting place of sophisticated nature.

The Stadthalle offers 6,500 m² of free space for a music competition and a maximum capacity of 14,520 people, though it is expected that the staging for the show will allow for approximately 7,000 to 8,000 people. A central point in the city's infrastructure and easily reached from all corners of the urban area, it is directly connected through tram and train to the main station, the Graz airport and thus indirectly to the cities of Maribor, Ljubljana, Klagenfurt, Vienna, Salzburg and the towns of Szentgotthárd and Bruck an der Mur by proxy.



Semi-final 1
Kareem Adetoro (he/him), is a singer-songwriter, previous contender in Kaiserschmarrn. Most noticeable as a dancer, his skills and charm are prone to make you fall in love with him.

Tamara Mascara (she/her & he/him), is one of Austria's most known drag queens, producer, DJ, actress, dancer, and all in all a brand. Arguably the face of Austria in North Vision Song Contest, what would the show be without her?

Semi-final 2
Iris Shala (she/her), is an actress and model. Starting her public career at Austria's Next Topmodel and playing in a soap opera, this Kosovo-born delight will not leave the viewers unentertained.

Godwin Merano (he/she/they), is most known as a dancer and performer. Gaining attention as one of the dancers of the 2022 Eurovision entry "Halo", they've been at the centre of bold queer representation in Vienna.

Grand final
Gloria Hole (she/her & he/him), is the most known and popular drag queen from Graz at this point. Through efficient branding and being at the spot-light of the current discussion of drag readings in Austria, this entertainer is influencial in the host city and well-established, regularly acting as a moderator for events even catered for non-queer audiences.

Steffi Stanković (she/her), is a Serbian-born trans woman who is the face of on-going discussions of trans rights within Austria and partially Serbia. Contrasting these two worlds and making bold statements that easily break down the stigma of trans individuals, Steffi is the symbol of breaking barriers and opening your arms to even your greatest opponents.

Thea Ehre (she/her), rising to fame through her award-winning role in the movie 'Bis ans Ende der Nacht', is an actress, performer and, unintentionally, a trans-activist. Rising to fame from one day to another and being confronted with the stigma of not fitting the binary, her authentic personality and sudden stardom inspires many trans individuals in the country.
