Why can't you hold me in the street? Why can't I kiss you on the dance floor?

The 8 participants of Luxembourg Song Contest 2024:
1. Joel Marques Cunha 2. Naomi Ayé 3. Edsun 4. Krick 5. One last time 6. Tali Golergant 7. Angy & Rafa Ela 8. Chaild
Everyone's got international connections so we're in fact in for a global competition in Luxembourg lol. I didn't copy the other flags from the discord server as I've never used "foreign" flags in those posts.

My top 8 of Luxembourg Song Contest 2024:1. Chaild - Hold onIt's nothing original, but at least the kind of ballad I love. 2. Tali Golergant - FighterWhat I noticesmx relatively early on: Tali sings a bilingual song - in French and in English. It also happens to be at least somewhat catchy - particularly the chorus. What's killed it for me are mostly those ah aaah parts which are way too dominant for my liking. Overall I can conclude the song to have potential, but at least for now isn't able to tap it fully. 3. One last time - Devil in the detailA pop rock song, but sadly not powerful enough ... It gets better towards the end, luckily. 4. Naomi Ayé - Paumée sur terre'A beautiful ballad, but sadly rather on the unspectacular side - especially in the verses ... Naomi gets points from ke though for being the only one who sings fully in a national language! 5. Edsun - Finally aliveEdsun has given us an Rnb single with some funky vibes. It does remind ne of Prince ngl. 6. Krick - Drowing in the rainShe has a beautiful voice and also a beautiful song. Sadly it's very boring. 7. Joel Marques - BelieverAn okay-ish very radio friendly pop song with a big chorus. It however happens to be lengthy and overall not very original I'm afraid. 8. Angy & Rafa Ela - DropIt's not that bad, but just a regular pop song with too much oooooh ... Towards the end it also falls flat. What bothered me are their voices being quite similar so I couldn't really tell them apart at sone moments. This NS is such a disappointment from what I've heard. The songs are mostly just your average 0815 radio pop song. There's also not too much variety or anything that stands out besides Naomi Ayé and Tali Golergant singing (at least partly) in French aka a national language. And that's a tragic element for a unique feature ... What disappointed me the most here however is the fact that the broadcaster explicitly said "we want to focus on our local music industry" - and invited some talented artists who have released their own stuff beforehand - and instead of letting them compete with an own song gives them a bland Melfest reject. What is this? Malta II?
